Aikido, and I must stress I started this BEFORE Steven Seagal became popular.
I also use to train with the manager of Tan's Martial Arts on Logan road before it closed down. We did more of a freestyle ninjitsu with weapons which was most enjoyable. |

I used to do Wing Chun Kung Fu in the city until they moved to Browns Plains :(, BJJ, Kickboxing. Now I'm only doing Muay Thai and Boxing. Used to spar a bit in the Kungfu class but, now I don't do it at all...

Its a video i saw on www.bullshido.net , i think the aikido guy is some grandmaster or something.
I think its basically "the worst" of aikido, in that the guy getting thrown does his attack expecting to be thrown, so no matter what happens he is thrown (or takes a dive, i guess its like soccer). |

For many years I did Freestyle Taekwondo, Wing Chun, Muay Thai and some boxing. I then trained full on in the gym for about 2 years and bulked up to 100kg and only about 8%fat. I got into a fight, badly dislocated my shoulder, lost all motivation, stopped training altogether and now after 3 years of doing nothing I have turned to fat and I get tired walking up stairs.

from what I understand of it, yes, and it usually requires your assailant/victim to attack first.

I just started up kung fu at east brisbane, its a "traditional" tong long style of kung fu, the guy who leads us is a 9th degree grand master, and is a short asian dude!
Im f***ing LOVING it. Coming from doing 6 years of GKR karate, 4 years in state team, black belt etc. This style kicks the s*** outta my old style! Main thing i get from it is conditioning, we never do moves to air, its always to pads, each other, or bags. My immediate level instructor (8 years xp, yet not even "black") said he would have no dramas blocking a baseball bat with his arm. They block punches with their heads and s*** too. Sounds pretty cool :D I have not yet seen any open sparring, but the grand master constantly (CONSTANTLY) goes on (and on and on) about how this style is a fighting style. Its meant to be completely offensive, someone throws a punch and we hit their arm at a certain point to immobilise his arm! Check it out: http://www.chinesekungfuacademy.com/default.html |

said he would have no dramas blocking a baseball bat with his arm. They don't take the force directly with this s***, they deflect most of it or absorb it like catching a thrown egg, it's impressively done though. Put the arm on a table and hit it with the bat, bet the bat is stronger than the bone :) |

I did Zen-Do-Kai for 3/4 years back in Brisbane, it wins hands down for realistic self defence. Since being in London I've started doing Capoeira, its great!

In 1976, George Salusbury was abducted by an UFO. Having spent 11 years on the aliens' planet, he acquired the knowledge of a revolutionary fighting system -- Grand Celestial Do : The Fighting Art of the Cosmos. His mission is the spread this new art to everyone on Earth. Are you ready for the future? Looks good, i'll be kicking all your arses back to Alpha Centauri in no time. |

that doesnt even deserve a comment
but now that it has one i bet a lot of other people would 'win' in a duel especially when they do an actual martial art that uses more than 100m webspace |
