yeh I have also been trying to track this down for a taste. Read an article in the paper a week or so ago about how it was being marketed for the clubbing crowd as Strex said. Wife went to Dan Murphy's tonight at Sumner park and they didnt have any.

had some it was great, much easier to drink than regular xxxx, doesn't leave that wheaty acidic taste on your tongue

I know how you feel, just ask Hermitech.

The way to fix that is by drinking something like Fosters ($36/carton). That way when you notice someone else drinking it you can throw an empty bottle at their head.

Weird thing with you though step is that you don't drink. Awesome at destroying your fingertips though =)

XXXX bitter gives me headaches for some reason so I have to stick with Golds.

XXXX Special Brew, is around 40-45 dollars a carton. My shop has plenty of it. You will find any small bottle-o will not have it. Try the liqour superstore in lutwyche all big liquor barns as well will stock it.

I had a 6 of this today on .au day on fpot's recommendation. I found it tasted like ass. I ended up buying some smirnoff blacks to get drunk off as this spoiled any desire I had to drink beer today. I found it tasted like Toohey's Old, ie poo.

The 6.5% didn't make up for the crap flavour and I found the 7% lemonade I ended up drinking was a lot better. shame on you xxxx!!

i managed to get a carton of the special brew ($40), i enjoyed it, but i still like bitter better.

it certainly is full flavoured... and i got drunk quicker which was great. i went through the whole carton and needless to say i was absolutely maggot by the end of it.

all in all, worthy addition to the XXXX lineup but not a bitter beater.

nah, its true... it was over the course of a whole day and night though.
nothing special, esp for aussie day :D

I ended up going to the Story Bridge for the cockie races. f*** me it was packed, hot and took 40 odd minutes to get a drink... AND I couldn't get any XXXX from the beer tents (had to drink cougar & coke). No point in getting more than one drink as it would just get hot within minutes or spilt by some random trying to squeeze through.
What's really funny is that I always wondered what a nightclub looked like at closing time when all the lights were turned on if you were sober. All these chicks wearing (or not wearing as the case maybe) their very best nightclub gear wandering around in high heels sinking up to their ankles in chipbark and sloshy grass <-- most humorous

Pretty difficult to get a skinful when drinks are that far apart. Made up for it when I got home and kicked off with the lads though =)
Damn work today erghhh..

Doing a carton over 12 hours isnt anything special. Heck one of my mates has polished 30 cans off over 4 hours, and it seemed doable (by that i mean it wouldnt be tooo tricky)
