Basically my internet works fine, but when I try and use msn it fails it instantly says it won't allow me to sign in. I have tried numerous accounts and d/l msn again. It still won't work. It pretty much suddenly stopped working one day.

Maybe it's a firewall issue? What the hell, I have no clue. Now I have to use some second rate computer which has no music but allows me to use msn. RAH.

Chances are its a stupid IE problem, since IE essentially governs Messenger's internet connection from what I've read so far.

msn-problems.com
Check your IE Security settings. Open Internet Explorer, click Tools then Internet options. Go to the Advanced tab and scroll down to the security section. Make sure that use SSL 2.0 and use SSL 3.0 are both checked. MSN Messenger requires this for validating your password and username.

http://www.e-messenger.net/

(What is e-Messenger? e-Messenger is a web application that enables you to chat with your MSN, AOL and Yahoo buddies without having to install any program or Java applet. All you need is a JavaScript enabled browser and you're set to go and use e-Messenger. Even if you're behind a firewall).

or

google: "webmessenger" and click on the first link.

sif use web based messenger programs at home. I agree that they're handy at uni and other places where you can't install software, but I couldn't stand using it on my own pc.

Just search for a fix man. Or format ;)

Do you type with one finger? If not, then you will understand how frustrating the lag is between messages.

your firewall has detected excessively emo conversations and blocked msn's ports

As dumb as it sounds, make sure the date and time on your computer is set correctly. If it's not todays date msn wont log in.

Weird, when I was with telstra cable, mtu 1492 wouldn't let me update windows properly.
