Just got back from a screening of King Kong this morning with work. It was pretty good, though I think the running time could have been cut back a bit to give it more punch, some great effects and fight scenes with Kong vs Monsters, and some really nasty slug things that swallow one guy alive, nasty.

There wasn't quite a few references to the original (apart from the storyline) with some lines ripped directly from the 1933 version, but taken in different context making fun of the dated social factors at the time (the original had the love interest for anne darrow acting like a total c*** to her and saying women are useless)
