Philip Seymour Hoffman .... Dan Mahowny
Minnie Driver ... Belinda
John Hurt .... Victor Foss
Maury Chaykin .... Frank Perlin

Just finished watching this and I must say it was a damn cool movie. Let me invite you to read what it is this movie is all about...
Dan Mahowny was a rising star at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. At twenty-four he was assistant manager of a major branch in the heart of Toronto's financial district. To his colleagues he was a workaholic. To his customers, he was astute, decisive and helpful. To his friends, he was a quiet, but humorous man who enjoyed watching sports on television. To his girlfriend, he was shy but engaging. None of them knew the other side of Dan Mahowny--the side that executed the largest single-handed bank fraud in Canadian history, grossing over $10 million in eighteen months to feed his gambling obsession.

Hmmm, sounds good hey?

Well, this movie kicks some serious ass. It's strictly a drama but there were a few parts that made me LOL and laugh out loud. Plus at the 1:15:00 mark of the film I couldn't help clap because this guy was all class. Based on a true story it's so funny to see banks get ripped off and casino managers stoop so low to keep the high rolers coming back. If you're looking for a cool true story to watch then this is it. Highly recommend this and Phillip Seymour Hoffman is damn near perfect for this role and it's great to see John Hurt playing the ruthless Casino manager. Truly a great role. So run down now to your local video store and hire this out, you wont be disappointed.

Well done everybody!

Hired this out the other week but didn't get a chance to watch it. Now every time I go to grab it, it's always gone. Will stalk it next Tuesday.

PS Rev - how's life living with the Coorparoo gang again? That sucks about the other store...

Grab this when you get the chance Zak.

The other store is doing fine, it's just closed at the moment. But don't worry, they have plans to re-open at another location.

Whats this? Rev is posting about a movie that doesn't have Mandy Moore in it? Does she have a cameo or something?

Philip Seymour Hoffman has almost always played wierd characters, in a way he reminds me of George Costanza...

Sounds like a good flick, might check it out some time.

The Cooler was on at the cinemas for a bit, just not in wide release. I never got a chance to see it though, but I wanted to :(

The Coorparoo store has closed down for ever but feel free to come to Greenslopes and tell us our game selection sucks...because it does.

However, we do have an awesome selection of movies which is cool. I've made sure of that.

I hired Owning Mahowny tonight, on your recommendation rev ;)

It wasnt too bad actually. Id say it was implausable, but the fact that it was based off a true story makes it interesting.

Also hired Traffic, which was pretty good too :)
