The south East Queensland area should get daylight savings. Where Qld meets the corner of the South Australia border, and go directly across to the coast. That area should have daylight savings. Those of you who havent experienced it you don't know what your missing out on. It makes life much less stressful, more time to go out after work etc.....
Do you think South East Queensland should have daylight savings? |

The only advantage I see for Sth East QLD to get daylight savings, would be that the sun would be blazing in the sky at 5:30am as opposed to 4:30am.
Otherwise, DS is the pits. It's worse down here - daylight till 9:30 fer farks sake. Might be alright for fitness fanatics and golfers, but f*** me it's hard to have an early night. Worst of all, you lose track of time - you start thinking about making dinner and it's about an hour after you'd normally have cleared the dishes. Then you factor in your job where you have to recalculate not only interstate time differences, but also international differences too. Either we all do it, or we all don't do it. My vote is "no" |

I've also found, particularly after moving here from Brisbane, that you tend to work back late a lot more often, for a lot longer, simply because the natural daylight coming into the building disorientates you..

i guess I'm biased because I like sports and golf.
I just really like the idea (and enjoyed it when I lived in melbourne and oxford) of having free time in daylight hours, other than the weekends. it's f***ing great, when i'm working I couldn't give a f*** if its dark or light. |

daylight saving is dumb. we already get more daylight hours in summer... why alter our dateline? having said that... it's even dumber that all the eastern cities don't all do the same thing.
Those of you who havent experienced it you don't know what your missing out on. but moving your clock ahead by an hour isn't too hard to imagine is it? It makes life much less stressful, more time to go out after work etc..... bs. it doesn't change anything except your perception. if i finish work at 5pm... i still have to start again the next day at 8am. the difference is 15hours regardless of daylight saving. whether the sun is still up at 8pm or 9pm impacts on me not at all... it's not as if you are rendered useless as soon as the sun goes down is it? we aren't cavemen anymore... turn a fukn light on. time is a concept. daylight saving time doubly so. |

Daylight saving is awesome! I think it is hard to imagine; the difference in it still being light really late in the afternoon is mindblowing. I think it would be awesome, because after I finish working I like to go play some sport, and it sucks only having practically a few minutes to do so.
Also, when you have to work with people in Sydney/Melb, its frickin lame because they start at 8am our time, not 9am, and they try and call you and you're still asleep!@# |

Cows have a better sense not to alter time purely for recreational purposes. I salute them! The one thing I hear a lot down here from women is "I love daylight savings, I can go out for jogs/walks after hours and not worry about the dark." Apparently sunset at 8:30pm here is too early. :P |

Daylight saving is awesome! I think it is hard to imagine; I’m confused, did you just suggest that it is hard to imagine what one more hour of sunlight is like? the difference in it still being light really late in the afternoon is mindblowing. Yes, light and hot … f*** that. I think it would be awesome, because after I finish working I like to go play some sport, and it sucks only having practically a few minutes to do so. What sport do you play that doesn’t have lighting at the grounds? Even more so, do you really want the blistering heat of February searing down at you as you run about playing whatever games trog plays?? |

I remember back in the late 80's QLD had daylights savings and I thought it rocked hard because after school there was still a s***load of time to play and get up to shenannigans. But these days it wouldn't worry me at all seeing as the only exercise I get is busting some sick moves on the dancefloor.

I find in summer the light wakes me up as early as 5am, even through my dark curtains, so perhaps another hour to sleep isnt too bad. But I guess that means I would be going to bed when its hotter which doesnt appeal to me.

Or if you're really lucky like me and live in Tasmania we have day light savings for ages.
I think it's like 2-3 weeks before the mainland then 2-3 weeks afterwards too.... not sure but oh well. |

Daylight savings would have to be one of the most STUPID f***ing ideas I have ever had the misfortune to subjected to. Yeah, add an extra hour of sunlight to a period of the year that has more sunlight than any other time of the year. GG d*******s! If you had to have it, it would make more sense (not that it makes sense anyway) to have it in winter, not summer... If you ask me, its just a futile attempt of man to control time |

I loved ds when we used to visit rellies in victoria at xmas. More sunlight after school. Yes skitza, we do get more daylight in europe... but winter, yish, sun sets at 3pm. Daylight savings would be great
Also, when you have to work with people in Sydney/Melb, its frickin lame because they start at 8am our time, not 9am, and they try and call you and you're still asleep!@# Head office for the company I work for is in Melbourne.....also our call centre is based in Melbourne.....so I arrive to work to have a s***ELOAD of orders already processed thru and being behind. Then when they finish at 5:30pm (4:30pm Brisbane time) and I try to call them at 5pm my time about an urgent issue theres noone there! Really sucks.....as for calling me when Im asleep thats not a problem cos I wont give em my mobile/home number. That and if its really important I have voice mail on my work phone where they can leave a message. |

It's annoying when you've got school or uni cause you've got so much less incentive to wake up when it's pitch black and freezing outside. On the other hand it's great for people who want to do s*** after work or school or whatever.
I don't really give a s*** either way, but it'd be better if all states did it one way or the other cause it causes hassles all over the place, like with the cows :@ Also, don't forget the curtains! Some dumb bitch complained that daylight saving pissed her off because there was 1 more hour of light in the day which dulled her curtains quicker. |

The sun will rise and set at the relatively the same time each day in depending on the different seasons regardless of day light savings or not.
BTW daylight savings is stupid and shouldn't be enforced anywhere. |

lolz here's another gem of a reason why DS would be no good, from my father in law of all people...
"DS would be no stuffin good to me unless they moved the news back an hour as well. I cant be stuffed having an extra hour of daylight if i have to race home and get relaxed to watch the news at 6pm anyway". |

Daylight Savings rocks.
Yay, more light. Its just useful for all sorts of summery activities. If you had to have it, it would make more sense (not that it makes sense anyway) to have it in winter, not summer... Yes, cos we could go out and enjoy the sunshine in the f***ing freezing cold :D |

Yeah, add an extra hour of sunlight to a period of the year that has more sunlight than any other time of the year.I wasn't aware we controlled the sun, I thought we were just changing our clocks - moron. |

spidz, you should work in management
Do you try really hard to take things out of context or are you naturally thick as well as stupid? Lets see.. Alter our clocks so that its one hour earlier umm, doesn't that mean technically sunset is an hour later than your used to so you stupidly think that you get an extra hour of sunlight. When did I say that we control the sun? If the whole purpose of gaylight savings is to add an extra hour of sunlight to a persons day, why add it to a period of the year that has more hours of daylight than the other part of the year. |

o you try really hard to take things out of context or are you naturally thick as well as stupid?how did I take it out of context? you said daylight savings adds an hour of sunlight, clearly that statement is moronic. All daylight savings does is change the time we enjoy the sunlight. |

Wow, this is why Queensland doesn't have Daylight saving, because most of you retards have no idea or clue.
Daylight Saving f***ing rocks, I was in sydney last year this time, was awesome to have sunset at like 7.30PM - after the initial two or three days it took you to get accustomed to it, it was awesome. It gives you extra time to do normal things like go outside and do something more fun than sit inside and furirously masturbate to celebrity porn or play the latest f***ing patched up game which was released far too early. I guess though that most of you guys whining about having 'an extra hour of sunlight' are people who don't actually work and spend all your day inside moaning about getting killed by some cheater in cs. Most of the people who work and get home at f***ed hours (myself I get home anytime between 4pm and 9pm some nights) would love an extra hour where when I rock home, can go outside, go for a run or do something normal in the sun before I go back inside and do my antisocial computer bulls***. Its also f***ing pathetic when you're trying to do business or do anything with the southern states, seeing we're too f***ing retarded up here to comply with the norm so when you ring up a business down there at 4.30pm they've shut for the day. Meh its no point arguing anyway, all the tards against it have got no good reason for not having it, I'll just lump you into the same basket as the f***tards who said 'it will fade the curtains or it confuses the cows' backward f***ing redneck queensland |
