Well not even into a full day of rego's and there are only 70 places left, so far 230 players have registered for the QGL Finals, its looking like being a pretty awesome two days of the ultimate in gaming action.

This is the biggest gaming event Queensland as ever had, and we are trying really hard to cover all games, and game types. CounterStrike players will have the best action, with both comps for the players of the finals and a comp for other players, we also have a starcraft comp, which I will put up the structure for tomorrow, and are working hard on some other things.

What about tribes? Is there any interest in some tribes action? I'm thinking on one of the ten dedicated servers we run a tribes dediacted server as well! We will attempt to have more dedicated servers that you could ever think of, with all sorts of different mods.

Rune! We absolutly have to do somthing with this game its alot of fun, it isnt available yet for sale but will be before the event. With three hundred gamers we want to try to cover everything, leave a comment on this post with what game you want us to provide support for.

i'll do all the configs n s***, i'll even bring the quake cd so u can install it if the servers dont have it. its QW..takes like 1mhz to run : )

Rukh: I played JDoom (the new Direct3D/OpenGL engine for Doom) and it looks just like the old game (except for a coloured light here and there) and runs under win2k. You can even use mouse controls like in Quake, only they let you jump, which is just not Doom...

QW at a lan ?

Try playing quake, you will be pleasently surprised when all of a sudden there are no gay physics and bunny hoping doesn't exist. Its a whole different (and much more enjoyable) game.

Quakeworld is designed for the internet and high lag situations, so use it there.

Yeah, you should see what it looks like looking down on the monsters from a high ledge - little cardboard cut-outs. :)

The coloured lighting is just a hint of a glow from the little blue health things. Other than that, it doesn't look any different - even at 1280x1024 it still looks as though it's at 320x200 in software rendering. :-P

I'll try and get some Magazine subsrciptions from the wife for these if possible. (Australian PC User and APC Mag - 12 month subs ect..)

rune is the most intense craziest deathmatch ive had in f***ing ages its utterly insane the weapons are a little unbalanced but that dont matter im you control the runes mind you im yet to play a dm with more then 3 people it might balance out the weapons a little
