Atari have just announced Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 for PlayStation 2, the sequel to the best-selling original:
With highly detailed cel-shaded graphics, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 features 34 of the toughest, most seasoned heroes and villains from throughout the Dragon Ball Z sagas. Players can battle in eight highly destructive arenas covering five gameplay modes, including Versus, Tournament, Training and the all-new, single-player experience, Dragon Mode, where players join forces with a team of AI-controlled DBZ fighters on a quest to capture all seven Dragon Balls. Fans can perform fusions – the combination of two fighters into one – and play as the mighty villain Buu, who appears in three forms: Maijin Buu, Super Buu, and Kid Buu.
Check out some screenshots for a look at the pretty colours.

MEIN EYES!

I don't know if any of you have played the original, but 2 minutes alone of it almost caused me to throw the controller through my friend's widescreen TV in disgust.

*Mash Mash Mash*

Heck, the fights in this game are almost as boring and repetitive as the TV show, and that says a hell of alot.

Edit: Fire, it's cue :)

I mean, come on guys. The developers do all this work, then the don't apply anti-aliasing to their sillhouette tracking algorithm. That's why the "black lines" look so crusty. I'm actually working on a fan-made (argh! don't sue me!!!) DBZ game, and we've got similar sorts of graphics happening, (very different gameplay though), and with antialiasing it looks SO MUCH BETTER....
