2100kms from cable, and 900kms from asdl, well I NEED IT!!! I want a fair game. I could see how easy it would be to shoot someone with lag,a nd a 500 ping. Easy prey someone say? well I'm going to help him pay it(otherwise I think I wouldnt be on this earth very long).

B4 cable my biggest bill was 280 sumthing dad wasnt happy

My biggest bill for a month when I had dial up was about $60 I think.

I constantly dial-up using Powerup (they disconnect you after 4 hours) and I rarely get above $30.

So $400 is pretty bad.

yeh.. the powerup disconnection sucks ass..

i spend *nearly* all day with the comp connected.. even why i aint @ comp.. so on avg. i spend about 4x local call cost??

on bad days when the comp crashes i easily dial like 7/10 times..

avg bill is about 30/40 from powerup, but meh.. im getting adsl in a week ;)

Dood $400 for a phone bill? If your dialling a local call and its costin you $400 per month thats 1818 DIal Ups PER MONTH cause 22cents per local call diveded by the cost gives you 1818.18181818 f*** that. ooher

I'm ringing STD. I live 1000kms from asdl, and 2100kms from cable. I'm dialing into a server in melbourne :D

from 7:30-12 its $3, and 4:30-12 on sundays :D

anyway, its 16c/minute after 12, and so I play till 3am =^(

godfr3y, man you don't use the internet much then do you. i'd also say you hardly 'constantly' dial in.

oh and the chances of powerup going unlimited are on-existant, they're probably making a loss on the dialup services as it is.
because
a) the majority of people who use dialup can't fix simple problems, so they call helpdesk, powerup therefore needs to keep more helpdesk staff,
b) before the service was capped, people abused the unlimited service,
c) (hypothetical) if powerup were to not enforce a 4 hour kicktime you'd get those weenies who seem to feel the need to stay on for days at a time. get a life.
