ntdlr is one the files needed for nt to boot... no idea why it could be missing though... throw your NT setup disks in and you should be able to choose from install windows NT or repair an existing install (something like that) choose repair then you should have to select inspect startup environment *i think* :) havent used NT in ages GL

from memory you should just be able to copy the contents of the nt boot disks to your root dir and that should work...if you dont have boot disks then get another machine, put nt cd in and type

winnt /ox
(that i remember hehe)

if thats no go then just boot of the disks you just made (3 i think) and do what hilikus said - ie. repair install and there will nps

have you installed a new hdd at all? or say deleted/edited boot.ini?

win2k always looks for it's s*** on the bootable partition.. so...

Well I can say Ive had this same problem before and fixed it. got the same error message and had NEVER had NT on the system. Was running Win98 SE at the time too....

a nice clean format and reinstall fixes it good. Did for me anyway. Someone told me (cant remeber who) that it could be the partitions having problems....can anyone confirm/deny this??

I got that error, but it was kind of obvious why it was missing. I deleted it! *Doh!*

Anyway, After that, I re-installed windows.
