Topic: Gooseman Response to CS Weapons Claim

Rob over at BigKid received a reply from Gooseman with regards to a rant he did during the recent Summerblue fiasco. I can't seem to link straight to the relevant article, so I'll simply paste what Gooseman said:
Thanks for the response.. I have a feeling people like you are in the majority and the people that complain and whine about inaccuracies are the minority.. It just infuriates me when people have to have all their games behave like Quake3 or UT (with their pinpoint aiming system). These people should just stick to Q3 or UT..
There's also a bit in there questioning the Summerblue guy's practical experience to be able to judge the performance of Counter-Strike weapons and compare them to Real Life.

From the stories I've heard about this issue though, you don't need to be an expert in weapons to know that if you unload a clip into someone from an MP5 at point blank range and they don't die, there's something amiss. I'd be interested to get some more feedback on this - what do you guys think about it - does it actually happen, or is a product of someone's wild hallucinations?

Once again Gooseman has provided insight into how much of a fool he really is. *sigh*

I guess someone (with a kevlar vest) could be extremely lucky if all the shots were spread out across his upper body/chest. :) But they'd probably die from internal injuries, the impact of the bullets causing severe haemorrhaging.

Its highly innaccurate for sure. But seriously would it be fun if it was more accurate. I mean its impossible to make it anything like real life so they do their best to make it even and fun. They did a pretty good job really. Its a fun game wrecked by cheaters and f*****s.

As some of you know I have had my fair share of time using pletty of types of army weapons,I agree with what has been said about CS being f***ed at times when it comes to the behaviour of the weapons in the game.

But like was said b4 you don't have to be an expert to know that emptying a whole clip into an enemies head should kill him.

I have used many fully auto weapons and I find that the CS weapons do spray rounds about more randomly than the realy thing.I have seen guys unload a full 30 round clip on an M16 into a target thats almost 2mx2m and not miss once and that was from 100m away, just try doing that in CS.

In one range shoot I put 2000 rounds into a target 100m away in less than 3 minutes using an M60.I'd say that at least 90% of them hit the target as it was well and truely f***ed by the time that I'd finished, mind you the barrel was red hot and I just about f***ed it.Sure alot of weapons spray rounds about abit but not as badly as CS would have you believe.

and even more so, the cs characters are supposed to be hardcore counter-terrorism guys, if thier aim strays that much because they are walking, f*** knows how they got into the service.

nah, Rainbow 6 was the first TC book that I thought was stupid.

Bear and the Dragon was good until I left it on the floor and by room flooded and my copy got ruined, so I need to buy it again. Dammit. Although I thought the whole thing was a bit of an excuse to have some more digs at Communism and to pay out on the Chinese as nothing but babykillers.

What didn't you like about the rest of the Rainbow Six story line dude? I thought it was pretty good. Not really genius, but with those AWESOME takedown bits in it who needs genius story line :)
I never read the Jack Ryan series books, just saw the movies and they kicked ass in a huge way.

Anarot... shut mouth, go library, borrow clancy books, read first then comment.

Sheesh, the movies sucked compared to the books

Sif indiana jones had any chance doing a clancy film =)

As for other british ct's like the SAS, they did s*** like doubletap a guy in the head. They would glock em in the head, then put another bullet though the exact same hole in the next second.

Accuracy?

Umm f***ing YES

but i guess its only a mod. and if people have fun with it anyway...

i think the reason people make such a big deal of this is because people keep saying "cs is the greatestgame on the planet etc", when bugs like that occur in other mods, people dont really care.

Anarot, I dunno, I was disappointed that he carried on with the whole biological warfare thing from Executive Orders. I was _really_ disappointed with the ending (well, the bit before the ending when they pick up the bad guy in Sydney) - I thought it was building to a really awesome climax, then that happened, and it was a real let down. I thought it was sort of clumsy the way Clancy planned things. The overall plot was a bit over the top, even for Clancy standards.

The Ryan books are really good though; definately worth a read.

Imo the best best best Clancy book (one of my favourites books ever) is Without Remorse. John Kelly is state of the badass art in that, and the story and everything I think just rocks.

Yeah I would have to agree with you actually Trog - it was a bit of a let down at the end. I'll have to check out Without Remorse some time.

ANd in Rainbow Six, Einstein, the CT's use MP10's with hollow points and three round burst fire - usually hitting within a 3cm radious grouping (depending on range).

you people should have a go at Rainbow Six multiplayer. I thought it would be really s*** cos i hated the slowness of moving around, but it was actually hell fun.

I was commenting on your jack ryan comments, i said nothing about f***ing rainbow six.

My SAS comment was for CS accuracy further up, man stop wtf you're smoking and get a cluepon.

Some of you people are failing to realise that its actually the Valve netcode that creates these problems. Buggy engine? Yes. Fun game? Yes.

Let's face it if a game isn't fun then people won't play it. Fact is, even with all its bugs I still find CS a fun game to play.

Bitta tall poppy syndrome going on here I think.

I have been around since cs was a little baby and i remember when the guns were dead accurate. But as the game progressed and the guns did the whole rougue spear thing and got real inaccurate yes it made it a little unbelievable by how inaacurate it was but it made the game more about skill. having to duck and fire in short burst and not just holding down the trigger and shooting the whole clip in the same spot. SO yes i think the inaccuracy is a little over the top but it makes ca that much more fun................

Um, it isn't the netcode that makes the guns inaccurate. They're MADE to be like that. The guns are still inaccurate on a lan . . .

By the way, Rogue Spear kicks ass . . . Delta Force is pretty cool too . . .

how did you get form the spread of the mp5 to how good a book is then about the games based on a book WTF?

Bat-Man, it's a QGL forum, what would u expect?

as for the guns. I agree with Kinslayer, it's harder to shoot but then it requires more "skill" and makes the game more fun.

the question on how u can empty a mp5 clip into a guy and still live, that I blame Valve - I concure with nitro. however that would rarely happen on a Lan right?
I haven't played Lan's much but so far I haven't encounted much BS as I see on the net.
Buggy Netcode - yes!

PPl should also check there settings to match their ping, less BS would happen.

I need some help, I have Rogue Spear Gold Edition.
does anybody know where Aus imported it from?
Was is the US or UK?
I need a crack for it cuz it has SafeDisk.
errrrrr. dam it I wanna play rogue spear
*Drowl* sooo many sniper rifles.

thanks to anyone that can help me. :)

All I can say is (from many hours of Rogue Spear and many many many hours at the pistol club) Rogue Spear is pretty good as far as realism. That is with things like the longer you are still for, the more accurate your shot is. Plus pistols (epsecially the Desert Eagles) are fricking hard to use - I've seen people (in real life) miss a 60cmx60cm target from 7 meters with a 9mm semi-auto.

Rogue Spear kicks serious ass. Pity there's no extra maps available (Covert Ops sux0rs - three maps? What were they thinking!!!)

Heh, now there's two things that Nitro has said
that I actually agree with:

1) his post here - I agree with (you can see my pre-
written comments in the other thread).

and

2) "de_nuke is the most balanced map in CS for wars -
lets rematch it, rematch or we win automatically"

The rematched score was what exactly?
Heh, and I thought I was up myself.
