It seems to happen when stuff happens on screen, like when i open a new window, etc. WTF is up with it? I checked out the sound blaster website and they said that video drivers could have been a problem, so i changed them to an older one (got a geforce 2 mx btw). That has kinda helped, i think. The pops and crackles are a lot less loud. Anyway, this started heppening since I got a new motherboard, a jetway867AS (with a duron 700, if that matters). It seemed fine before I got the mboard. Any ideas? |

just started having the same problem here since installing my Mpeg encoder card (Pinnacle Studio DV+)... things were fine till I loaded the Xp drivers for the mpeg encoder, but now it seems whenever I do so much as load up a game, she crackles. Installing WinXP live drivers hasn't helped any. Running an Asus Cuv4x... here. Thankfully it's just a software problem by the looks of things. /me taps fingers while waiting for email reply from Pinnacle... |

go read up on your mobo; try a different pci slot; see if there are new drivers or patches or even bios updates that fix the problem; |

Make sure your microphone is switched OFF in the master volume control thingy when you are not using it. |

mines just started doing it again. it comes & goes. I'd say it's the power company f***ing with filtering or something. I never used to get that problem, now I do, few weeks/months it'll go away again. f***s me what's doing it, my mate up the road starts & stops bout the same time mine does. Maybe it's a creative thing, they've been programmed to do it at a set date to go make u buy a better sound card. |

If you guys have VIA chipsets on your motherboards (which you probably do), then you need this. |

IF it's a (from memmory) 500hz? on and off sound its whats knowen at energex noise, it's used to turn hot water systems on and off and other s*** like that. however energex deny it is audible (however we all know it is) BUT will offer you a box to remove the line noise for $600, and wont gaurentee it will work. u have no idea how much effort it can be to get energex noise outta a medium sized PA system :/ |

if u installed drivers off a cd and stuff, delete them. probably an idea to uninstall the whole component and reinstall with the freshest and latest drivers. at least that worked for me. and deleting half life will help, too. |

Get teh latest via 4 in 1 drivers (assumedly it's a via chipset), they are supposed to fix this up (well, it was fixed in one a while ago). No it's not your power supply, geezus. It's just some screw up on the part of creative or via, AFAIK they STILL havent really worked it out but some stuff they did helped most people. |
