Tora ,Tora, Tora, is a bloody good account fo the battle of Midway if your interested. Excellent use of real footage with studio footage.

"A bridge too far" is a classy flick too, plenty of stars for its time.

I liked Thin red Line cause it was released just after I saw Saving Private Ryan. Watching both sorta gave me a contrast in terms of the pure violent, horror/blood side of things hat were depicted in Saving Private Rayn. Where as Thin Red line more closely followed the mental side of war.

I'm sure they may not be the best movies in the War class but they do a pretty good job of showing War etc....

Saving Private Ryan was awesome, a million times better than Thin Red Line. I found that movie to be a bit over done, a bit too contrived....

Big problem with American war movies... they seem to think that they were the only ones fighting the Axis powers...

The Americans always pat themselves on the back. Damn amerikans...

Yeah, I agree about Saving Private Ryan and A Bridge Too Far. Good old Operation Market Garden. Those paratroopers jumped into a city full of SS troops and a Panzer division.

Ah yeah! f***ing oath, how could I forget?
That movie is f***ing top s***!
"Where you from anyway, Private?"
'Sir, Texas, Sir!'
"Holy dogs***! Texas, only steers and queers come from Texas Private COWBOY, and you sure don't look like a steer to me, so that kinda narrows it down. Do you suck dicks?"
'Sir, No, Sir!'
LOL
Did you know that the Drill Insructor wasn't an actor. Stanley Kubric just said "Give them all you have got" and basically told the actors to get ready.

The Drill Instructor was bought in to be a consultant on how to be a good drill instructor ... but the loser they got to fill that role sucked so much they asked him to do it :D
