The following message went out on SQ today, here it is again if you missed it: BUG FIXING TASK FORCE To clarify, I'm only interested in bugs in the current version (19202) - also, before emailing check the following: - you didn't upgrade from 19196 directly to 19202 - the current patch is for 19201 ONLY - do a clean install (19201+19202) and see if the problem still exists If it does, please email! I've had a few reports of the 'SQ is extremely laggy' with the new release, so I'm keen to track that one down; if you have any others, please let me know. |

Yeh, nats I have exactly the same experience as Sly does. Win 98, and it all just slows down, it has only started happening in the new versions, so it's not my pc :) If you need any more info, just post... |

Slydog, the source is on the SQ website - serverquery.qgl.org The slowdown is probably happening in ResolveNameDlg (from comm.c) - have a look through there and see if you notice anything weird happening. I've found a possible fix (at least, it fixed the slowdown problem that was occurring for Storm) however I'd rather know the cause of the slowdowns then simply how to make them go away. |

As an optus user using it as default setting, it was slow and inaccurate in listing servers. However as soon as I put in the /LAN switch it became perfect again. Listed every server in quick time, very accurately. This should be made very clear to any Optus user new to your program in your txt files. I now use the program exclusively to find Q3 games. Its great stuff. But: It won't let me refresh list. DNS error or something. I could probably solve that by tinkering I guess. Also: Is no Unreal Tournament support considered a bug? :p Suggestion: Put Jetstream and Paradise servers on there as well as lists. NZ isn't that far away. |

you cant refresh the list because you have the /LAN extension on. |

Stuart: /LAN is a hack that disables all DNS requests (which have been the primary cause of slowdowns/lockups for quite a while). For that reason, any feature that requires a DNS lookup (such as refreshing a list) won't work. With the help of Slydog last night, we seem to have identified the bug that caused his machine to perform really slowly. Expect a new patch soon. I only recommend the use of the /LAN switch until the lag problem is fixed; it disables many important features of SQ. Re: server lists, apart from the QGL list, none of the other lists are maintained; they are legacy lists from before SQ supported the 'Australian' lists. |

Anyone having problems, would you mind downloading the following? 1.92.0x -> 1.92.03 Starting with a clean install of 19201, add the 19203 patch and see if that fixes any performance problems. (NB: Please remove the "/LAN" from your shortcut if you are using it) UPDATE: Fixed the above URL |

Nathan, SQ only forgets the column width settings when running it from the systray. Otherwise it remembers. Oh well |
