I think someone missed a 0 off the price on a Black Sabbath box set. Was $178 now $15, I'm pretty sure if they bill your credit card they have to supply it right?

Whenever I see these absurd, low prices it always ends up being "Oh yeah, it was a mistake, our bad" and charge you for the full intended price if you've made an order.

Surely they would have to check though. They can't invoice you (electronically or not) for one price then hit you up for 10x that.

Wasn't there a Dell or something fiasco a while back when they listed HDD's for $30 instead of $300 and the ACCC made them supply a whole heap of them (for people whose cards had already been billed, except the dude who ordered 1000 units heh).

Yeah, guess they can't. Found an article on the Dell thing.

http://www.gadgetreview.com/2009/07/dell-ordered-to-honor-15-lcd-monitor-price-mistake-set-to-lose-19-million.html

Says they weren't going to honour the low price, but would give it to customers at a discounted price and then they were ordered to honour the original pricing.

Edit: Anyway, I've purchased one. I'll see how it pans out, if they email me saying it's wrong I'll just cancel the order.

clive peters tried this on us, we said nope it's marked as that on the shelf and you're going to give it to us at that price, girl behind the desk said no I can't the computer says it's this price. Go get the manager, a minute later we walked out with it at the cheaper ticketed price. Ahhh managers, is there anything they can't do?

That would have been pretty awesome. I own every album except Technical Ecstasy anyway (and the DVD) so no huge loss for me.

Imagine if all music was 10% the price. No more internet piracy.

there's still some obscure aussie hiphop that i can't get any other way than via the intertubes
I would happily pay for it if they were able to get it into itunes/etc

Ordered early this morning, got a confirmation email, but the status says pending. No idea if they charged my CC.

It'd be nice if it went through, but I'm not overly hopeful. Wait and see I guess.

Thanks for the heads up.

I paid with PayPal and my order status still says pending. They are probably thinking of a way out of having to cough up.

The one I was thinking of was in Australia and to do with hard drives IIRC.

I just sent Sanity music a message asking them why my order is still listed as pending even though it has been paid in full. Will let you know what they come back with.

Reply back to them and say that bait advertising is against the TPA? Ask how many units were available.

Nothing would come of it. If it's clearly a mistake and not a scam to get people to buy the thing then you're out of luck.

Mistakes happen, this isn't woolies - they don't have a scanning policy.
