My VoIP for no better word is rooted, it sometimes work it sometimes doesn't, all good on iiNet which makes me believe there is something dodgy going on with the modem sometimes. However i can't really afford to take it into computer alliance and have them hold onto it for a few days to test that there is infact something wrong with it, so was wondering if anyone has a spare modem i could borrow / have / buy cheap so i can prove that it is the modem.

using a billion 7404vgox the problem is constantly gets either can't connect to the service, or busy signal, f***ed with every setting possibly recommended.. done it all so just after a little test modem.

we sell voip at work (isp), you'd be surprised just how much your providers help desk can do for you to improve voice quality
give them a call before you try to replace hardware, it could be something as simple as a codec change

i had a problem with voip over BOB and it turned out to be there latest firmware upgrade.
got some great help desk and they rolled it back. if you're with iinet persist with help desk.

I had a billion 7404vnpx that had some strange problems and there was absolutely nothing I could do to make it work properly - random sporadic problems too, voip dropouts, dropped calls, config errors, adsl dropouts etc etc.

Tried to get billion to take it back but their support was useless so I ended up throwing it out and buying a linksys.

Sounds similar. I've done all the testing guys, i wouldn't be looking for a test modem just for the s*** of it.

factory reset 50 times, manaully added, had 2 posts on whirlpool, tried everything i could think of, nadda.
