woot, iinet have upgraded all of their plans!!!!!
i just dropped back from home 5 to home 3, so effectively have the same amount of dls i had before, for $20 a month less http://www.iinet.net.au/products/wp-summary-tables.pdf https://toolbox.iinet.net.au/?upgrade_plan=1 they've reduced off peak times by a fair chunk, but still, gigs for free! 2am-8am on the smaller plans 1am-9am on the larger plans |

Sweet, I'm close to my cap and it resets in a couple of days. Now instead I can just up it!
I'm also wondering why they are asking us to upgrade now and not wait until mid Jan when it happens automagically? |

well this isn't actually really all that good for me, i'm on naked 3 and i'm going to go from 15on/20off to 30/30. I was hoping to downgrade my plan, but they didn't upgrade the naked 2 enough, probably purposely. But after last months capping i received, i spose i better just be thankful.
Also new offpeak hours SUCK |

I'm assuming they changed the peak/off-peak times to reflect updated utilisations statistics on the network.

cost me $19 to downgradeWhich is BS. I'm just complaining because sometimes it'd be nice if you could use your limit, upgrade (the only way to uncap yourself) and then downgrade the next month, costing only $20 for the extra little quota. But no, i's more like $30-40. |

Ah well, i suppose that was to combat the apparent slowness on weekend mornings. IINET YOU'RE HAVING LESS AND LESS ADVANTAGES OVER DIRTY TPG EVERY DAY |

I schedule my torrents overnight as well, but I did enjoy waking up in the morning on the weekend and downloading linux isos so I could play/watch them in the afternoon.

I am totally confused myself.
I just got a home 5 plan hooked up (not naked)(no voip no phone) two days ago and am about to pay the first months bill which is 69.95 for me. Currently my qouta is 22 gig on and 30 gig off. When i go into upgrade plan area of toolbox I am presented with home 5 as 25 gig on peak and 30 gig off peak (with no phone and no voip) Why won't my qouta just change automatically if I am already on home 5! Do i upgrade it myself or just sit tight? p.s your upgrade link spook does not work for me. |

They're trying to sidegrade me from home 4 bundled with voip, to home4 unbundled. I think it is just a bit buggy, yesterday they were trying to charge me to upgrade to the same plan, then even if I selected home 5 ( a real upgrade ) they wanted to charge me a 'downgrade' fee for that, too. Used the link from OP and it registered it properly for me. But it said a friend would downgrade from his home6 usage to home 4 for $10 more or something, so obviously it has some issues. If you're not seeing what you should be, either wait it out for auto migration and see what happens or call iinet support. |

Anyone gone from Node to TPG?
I'm thinking about changing due to massive difference in price, but I'm scared about TPG service / contention ratios. |

f*** if I stay on the same plan I am gunna go from 52gigs (home4 bundled) to 100gigs. ADSL come a long way from 3gig 512k.
Can't wait to see my kill:death ratio with that many internets. |

If you're on 'Node via Telstra DSLAM check your plan!
I just did and got an extra 10 gigs while saving ten bucks. Went from 109 for 40G to 99 for 50G. Merry f***ing Christmas! ... kind of cheeky though that they didn't auto-upgrade, given that its more for less with no fee! |

I think it is just a bit buggy,No thats whats supposed to happen, the new plans are bulls*** for some people, my "upgrade" is the same as casas. Basically now you dont get any bonus for bundling voip, if i drop voip then upgrade my plan to the next one up i would get a plan with 25/30 instead... huuuuuge upgrade, thanks iinet! If i had clicked that link without thinking (apparently some c***s on whirlpool did lol) i would be down 12 gigs and have useless voip. |

Seems silly it doesn't upgrade automatically, but I am happy. Not really, they want you to keep paying for less value so it saves them money. Yes it would be nice, but TPG don't really value service that highly. You'd know if you've ever tried to get support from them :) I moved from Optus cable to TPG ADSL2+ Been fairly happy with it. Not as stable, we do get some dropouts every now and then. Speed is great, just as good as cable was, upstream is far superior (cable was 15k). Offpeak window is a bit small but if you have good download speeds from the other end its no problem. Just queue them up overnight and they are done by morning. We have a dedicated box we all remote to and queue downloads for the house, works well. Overall quota = massive compared to cable, main reason we went TPG. last edited by rubba-chikin at 15:39:31 17/Dec/09 |

Not really, they want you to keep paying for less value so it saves them money. True - and unless I had seen this thread I wouldn't have known about it. It's the second time I have changed plans with them, and it's been fairly easy both times. Yes it would be nice, but TPG don't really value service that highly. You'd know if you've ever tried to get support from them :) Actually I've been pretty happy with their service so far. There were a few speed issues when I first had it connected, but this turned out to be a Telstra problem. TPG were really good with everything - patient, kept me up to date regularly with all the goings on, and organised the Telstra technician visits for me. Have a few drop outs every now and then, but have never had a totally foolproof connection, even in London. |
