The drink contains skimmed milk mixed with sparking water, flavoured with fruit and sweetened with cane sugar.

Scientists have developed the drink at the firm’s laboratories in Atlanta, Georgia, ensuring it will not curdle in its 8oz aluminium bottle.

Sounds pretty weird, but I'd give it a go.

Source.

That's just as bad as having a fish milkshake.

The thing is they'll be able to market this as good for you since everyone knows that nothing is better for you than cows milk... if you are a calf.

Would assume these would be pretty similar to the spider drinks, Fanta had the Orange and Strawberry spider drinks out a while back and they weren't too bad.

Sounds like the Calpis drink that you can buy in asian restaurants/grocers, and really popular in japan... except its fizzy...

the ingredients are even quite similar.

https://ssl1.lon.gb.securedata.net/japanesekitchen.co.uk/merchantmanager/product_info.php?cPath=2_3&products_id=803

Ingredients Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, non-fat dry milk (Treated with a lactic acid culture), fructose, lactic acid, natural and artificial flavours, citric acid, soy fiber, sodium citrate.

Calpis is farrrrrking awesome, but it being fizzy.. I dunno about that.

So what is the problem with fructose? Fructose is metabolized differently than glucose. Unlike glucose, which is stored as glycogen, fructose is absorbed by the gut and converted into triglycerides by the liver.12 Fructose also elevates uric acid levels through effects on an ADP-IMP pathway in hepatocytes.13 The resulting dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia facilitate insulin resistance,14 aggravate hypertension,13 aNd accelerate endothelial dysfunction.15 Attenuation of nitric oxide levels is an important pathogenic mechanism as a final common pathway to poor blood flow.3,16 What we end up with is a familiar caloric additive provoking a new spate of metabolic dysfunction.3

Taken from Journal of the American Society of Nephrolology

Fructose in large quantities is bad mmmmkk.

Fructose is the red tablet in the contraceptive pill. Explains a lot. :-P

I think a fizzy dairy drink would be a novel experience. Egg nog is a personal fav, with a bit of mineral water could be WIN.

Yeah, I never actually considered that it may be like a spider. If it is, that'd be freaking awesome.

There is actually Calpis soda too, so this being carbonated isn't really bringing anything new
