I guess that'd be comfortable if you have no legs and your PC is on the ground.

Everything I buy is impulse based.. hell I bought my house about 2 days after saying to wifey "Hey lets buy a house". In fact the longer I think about making a purchase, the less chance I will go through with doing it.

Current example is I need a mouse. My wireless Logitech is slowly dying with the left clicker deciding what it wants to do on its own, batteries cost a fortune, etc. Few weekends ago I decided it was time to get another mouse, went around to a few MSYs and couldn't find the one I wanted and gave up. Now I figure my mouse is just fine albeit a little annoying and it can last a bit longer :(

TicMan, when you make those impulse buys, how do you generally feel about the purchases weeks/months after the purchase?

I bought a quilt that turns into a pillow yesterday. Snoozi Cube or something.

Generally pretty happy, until it breaks.. like my mouse (which incidentally was an impulse buy too). Some of the cheaper items ( < $100) I end up using only a little bit but don't regret buying them. Although most of those purchases would be entertainment related so the life span is pretty low anyway.

Higher ticket items like TVs, cars, etc usually stem from a need to get one anyway but I don't bother wasting hours/days/weeks researching - just walk past a shop, head in and BUY BUY BUY!

Nice soldering iron.

My last impulse buy was a house. What do I win? Now there will be no more impulse buys for a long long long time.

it's not the size that counts it's what you do with them ;)

I purchased those two in Jan 2005 and they're still going strong. (of course knowing my luck I'll get home tonight and they will have both died in the bum) I'm just waiting for some spare cash to impulse purchase a pair of 24s :P

A 1:3700 scale model of the Battlestar Pegasus. The idea was to build it up and have it on display in my study. I'm about half way done, I'm just caught up looking for some wire for the fuel lines and trying to figure out how the hell to paint it.

In one thread you say you are Mr Hardware's wife and in another thread you have a wife yourself. Are you some kind of bisexual mormon? You are called Pinky and you have a girly avatar, and then you say something misogynistic like that. You can imagine why people are confused about your gender.

I had just got my $3000 tax return back and I went to JB HiFi to help my brother with buying a TV. I then saw a beautiful Sony Bravia XBR on the shelf it was $3000! what a coincidence. It had such an awesome picture so I bought it without even thinking. I already had a 50" plasma.

I splurged and got a new SS ute ...

Ive been looking for a replacement for my beloved S15 Silvia for about 1.5 years and couldnt find anything that tickled my fancy at the time ... unfortunantly it had 160,000k's on teh clock and was starting to get little bits and pieces go wrong. It had been serviced every 5,000k's and loved like a child ... after so much time looking for a new car I saw a new SS ute in the paper for $39,990 went around to the dealer checked it out and eventually drove away in it 3 days later.

$25,000 change over with metalic paint (atomic green) lowered 2" all round (new springs) and 20" mags and 2.5"dual exhaust ... easy way to spend 25k

guess I wont be splurging for a while yet lol

I'm pretty sure anything I buy is impulse. It's generally "I think I need a..." then end up finding and buying that day.

Biggest one in recent memory has been "I need a new telly", blew 5k on a telly, amp and some speakers about 2 hours later. Pricks wouldn't even deliver it.
