I'm looking for some artists that have minimal music similar to Radioheads - Treefingers, or that interlude before Hysteria on Absolution. Anyone know anything similar or something they would recommend me, pls let me know!!!

It may not be "minimalist" per say, but it's awesome. It's the PGR4 soundtrack.

boards of canada are awesome but i wouldn't call them 'minimal'. ambient electronica is the genre i put them in :P i have 3 lps... all good but geogaddi is the best i rekn.

i don't know the radiohead you meantion in the op but if you like boards you might also like some chris clark (empty bones of you lp), murcof, twerk or yasume. murcof is more what i would call minimal.

chris clark - early mass

murcof - memoria

Radioheads - Treefingers

When I read the thread title, that was actually the song that popped into my head before even reading your post :) Nine Inch Nails definitely have some ambient songs that would fit into this category but I couldn't name names off the top of my head besides "A Warm Place" from The Downward Spiral. As far as where to start looking from the NIN catalogue, I'd start with the Quake soundtrack and the Ghosts I-IV album as they're both instrumental those there's obviously going to be a mix of heavier tracks amongst the softer ones.

Matt & Kim.

They're a synth-pop duo. So, so f***ing fun and catchy and awesome. But not exactly ambient or whatever the f***. Just really simple, clever pop.

In addition to what nailbomb said there is also "the way out is through" by NIN.

There are heaps of film composers like Vangelis (blade runner), Thomas Newman and Angelo Badalamenti that may fit what you want.

Also, http://bluemars.org for all your ambient/electronic online radio needs
