f1-11's are awesome planes. not only can they go mach 2.5 but they have an effective combat radius of 2000k's.

the fa 18 super hornet can only go mach 1.8 at has a combat radius of 537ks. only a quarter of the f1-11.

no other fight bomber in the world, outside of the b1 can match the f1-11 for distance.

will be sad to see it go :(

oh and Indonesia has practically no amphibious assault abilities, which would make it very difficult for them to invade en mass, also if they did invade Northen Australia, what would they have? where would they go? It's miles from anywhere, and if they try to stockpile anything it would be an easy operation for the f1-11's to bomb everything into oblivion.

Krowbar: they probably have some capabilities to go island to island. But, definitely not across the Timor Sea, which by the way is completely covered by our over the horizon radar systems.

I guess you missed the fact a few years ago that they bought up most of the old east german navy. Thats not to say it's a world standard force but it's not a half a dozen tiny's either.

Ive looked inside the cockpit of an F1-11 and its a top of the range plane.
In the 70s.
Ive been to Amberley Air Base and it looked like something out of an old ww2 movie.
Australias air force is rubbish and god help us if Indonesia decided to attack us. Of course America would prolly save us.
So, the question is, why spend money on a glass jaw military ?

Indonesia is our closest military power.
Why not make friends with them instead of painting every muslim as a terrorist.
