Topic: CD unreadable after labelling.

Ok so someone gave me the task of labelling all their home movies of their kids first step, first birthday, etc and now for some odd reason the discs can't be read! I have no idea what the hell is going on, I reckon their DVD drive is rooted because I only labelled them on the label side.

They told me to make it permanent and long lasting as their children would probably get their hands on them so I grabbed my trusty engraver and went about naming them all. Like I said, I only wrote the names on the label side of the discs though so is their DVD player broken or what?

Yeh, either a troll or soon to be deleted in embarrassment.

Someone screenshot it for the wiki, just in case ;)

Just rub toothpaste into it, all over it, then brush your teeth with it and rub more toothpaste in - it'll be fine!

get a black marker pen & run it around the outside edge of the dvd... the 'las0rz' are escaping out the side of the discs man!

Youre not supposed to engrave discs.. your supposed to use a marker pen.

You MIGHT get something off the second layer. I have doubts for the first.
Send it to Seagate, I hear they a doing some data recovery.
