What's wrong with making a sequel? If it's crap, then that's a damn shame, but if it's good, then yippee. It has Richard Kelly attached to it, so hopefully it won't be terrible.

Oh wait I got one... We don't need anymore f***ing remakes. Stop it already. There has only been 1 decent remake in the past few years that I can remember and that was the new Friday the 13th. No matter how many times you remake Nightmare on Elm Street, it just won't come anywhere near as awesome as the originals were with Robert Englund.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this thread. Animatrix was the best, I've rewatched it way more than any of the movies.

Empire and Jedi had awesome effects. They were better than the shiny CG s***ness of I II and III

there has been movies where the sequel is as good or even better in the past... but they are few & far between. like alien & aliens for example.

i don't get the fanboyism for the original star wars movies though. i was totally blown away by the original star wars in 1977 or whenever it was... but that doesn't stop me from seeing how dated & s***ty it is by todays standards. re-watch the orginal & checkout obi-wan fighting darth vader with lightsabers... it's fkn comical... they look like 2 old men batting at each other with thier walking sticks.

granted the newer star wars movies were overly hollywoodised & the story is terrible... but the story of star wars was always pretty stupid.
