Is it just me, or is this single episode going to push the DVD release up from a rating of M to R for coarse language? Not to mention the drunk kids and Quagmire method for breaking locks (I'm sure Reese Witherspoon would enjoy this ep too).
Seriously though, most hilarious episode in ages of just complete nostalgia - like a minute after this you have Stewie doing the whole song of 'Everything I do'. If you haven't already |

A TV show doesn't need anymore than 30fps.

It's like they're increasing the number of F's in the show to compensate for how random and crap it is.
Those Manatees need new ideas. That's all. last edited by infi at 15:39:50 19/Feb/09 |

Ramsay is the only show where the increase in F words is also an increase in quality.

Funniest bit was Quagmire mentioning the newborn baby was already looking like she was 18.

Pretty sure they beep the f***s out on the DVD release as well as the aired version. This was obviously leaked pre-beep.
I honestly think the whole Manatees thing was a friendly dig at FG and I am sure the creators of both shows have mutual respect for each. Both shows have their merits; I don't mind the randomness at all. But I guess people like yourself, infi, need a linear and safe plotline to follow, otherwise it all gets a bit too hard, amirite? Jesus Christ, loosen your tie and live a little, man. |

I got a kick out of Stewie trying to construct a song, talking through all the chords.
But yeah, thought it was one of the funnier Family Guy eps in recent times. |

heh, you mightn't think the dig was as friendly as it might seem from the episode itself (cartoon wars) coz in the dvd comentary both parker & stone say they hate family guy... Fair enough. Would like to check that out. From the interviews etc that I've seen of Matt and Trey it's hard to know whether they are serious or whether it's some in joke or total lie for the sake of being obscure. It is kinda weird but I suppose inevitable that they would have a strong opinion on their "competition". They also had a go at The Simpsons with the "Simpsons already did it" parody thing. IMO The Simpsons is past it's use by date but credit where credit is due, it was a pioneering force in animation for a wider audience. I never take what they do overly seriously. See, I can't really get into American Dad. It seems a bit ISWYDT type humour to me. Still, maybe cos every time I have thought "Ok I'll give this ago" it's the same bloody one or two episodes! The one where the chick goes to Burning Man or the one where the kid gets rich for some reason. Stupid groundhog day. last edited by IncrEdible_vEgetable at 20:40:19 19/Feb/09 |

Yes, but they're hardly the same sort of absurd humour.

Venture Brothers is cool. Also Frisky Dingo, The Xtacles, Harvey Birdman, 12 Oz Mouse, Sealab 2021, Assy McGee, Metalocalypse, Superjail...most stuff by Adult Swim is worth a look.
I watched an ep of Korgoth the Barbarian the other day. Pity it got axed after one ep cos I thought it was quite good. |
