Any suggestions for a new drama/thriller show to watch? Channel BT seems to have slowed down recently and FTA has nothing on it. So what's your all time favorites or must see shows?

Here's a list of show I've watched or continue to watch if they are still running

- Spooks
- Murphy's Law
- Seinfeld
- Frasier
- West Wing
- Smallville
- Heroes
- House
- BSG
- Scrubs
- Californication
- Secret diary
- Fringe
- Lost
- Alias
- Terminator Chronicles
- Dexter
- Two and a half men

Edit: left some out

go check out old tv shows that no one watches anymore cause they're in low def.

start with Yes muthaf***er Minister and work your way from there if you can handle the accent. Watching these shows is quite interesting again if you know the political background of the producers and writers.

It's kinda like playing your favourite games again - just cause you got an uber new system and you'd like to see everything in it's full glory..

oh.. and **everyone** has to watch a long and boring David Attenborough docco about bees at least once in their life while stoned off their tits..

I suggest somebody make a show about an old-school private detective in a dark, dirty city who has a sock puppet on his left hand who acts as his sidekick.

I missed the point of the thread, didn't I?

Lie to Me is pretty cool

And Life on Mars is interesting, the US one isn't as good as the UK one yet, but its striking out in its own direction now and finding its feet, and its an entertaining watch.

Breaking Bad is about a high school chem teacher that gets diagnosed with lung cancer so he starts cooking meth. not bad, not great.

big bang theory is pretty average. Same formula as IT crowd- 2 geeks with geek friends that cohabit with a generic female character, hilarity ensues! Not really, they just drop some pseudo geek buzzwords like differential and integral and hope geeks laugh.

House is still the best :D

I don't see what the appeal about Lie to Me is.

The bits where they show human interaction is a little interesting but very gimmicky.

The main problem for me is that the main guy just doesn't seem like a well developed character - he is hard to "connect" with and understand. And by hard to understand i don't mean he is interesting in complex, i mean he is plain and boring.

I'm liking Lie to Me at the moment as well.

I've heard good things about Chuck, but have yet to get around to watching it.

I think they're just trying to imitate House.

Any new show should include the hunting down and shooting of every single slag that put their hand up to be on Aussie Ladette to lady.... I refused to watch that crap show based totally on the low life scum they promote on it.

I did this recently with a UK show called 'This Life'. You can still track it down in the usual places and its available on DVD. One of the best shows I watched on TV. That plus like you said already Yes (prime) Minister, Arrested Development, Faulty Towers, Ripping Yarns, Firefly, Rome and Coupling are some of the TV shows I have most enjoyed watching over the years.

Ages ago now I used to watch a French Cop drama on SBS called Navarro that was f***ing unreal. Needless to say years spent trying to track it down since have turned up nothing.

FOX in their brilliance, have decided that a freshman show (Fringe) can survive two major breaks.

This one being the mandatory "American Idol" two hour s***fest. Fringe will return in 60 secondsApril.

My idea for a great TV show is a reality tv program where all the producers of reality tv programs are put into a large house for 2 months.

Each week, one gets shot through the head. At the end, the sole survivor gets castrated.

It has the benefit of being great entertainment, plus at the end there are no more reality tv producers save one, and he wont have the balls to make any more!

-High quality shows-

The Wire (most realistic show ever)
Rome
Deadwood
Sopranos

-Medium quality-

24
The Unit

-SciFi-

Babylon 5 (bit old, but best Scifi ever. better than BSG)
Deep Space 9 (awesome characters, great story. less pansy than most Star Treks)

-Animations-

American Dad (very funny)
Robot Chicken (extreme LOL moments)
Family Guy (similar to A.Dad but jokes are much dumber and less funny)

but without much context, just random unordered lists. I wouldn't trust someone's opinion if they list Two and a half men, Fringe or Prison Break. That's some low quality TV right there :)

Assumption fail.

I'm fairly patient, but half a season was enough for me to acknowledge the characters were weak and unlikeable and the general plot just retarded. 'Threshold' had a comparable feel but was much more interesting and better executed, but that got canned.

How bad is the Pommy accent in Black books? I find it hard listening to that "Pommy whine" for 30mins.

There were a couple of shows going lately that got canned that were great. The one where the big dinosaur things come up out of the ocean, the one where 2 guys were framed as terrorists by their mate and the time machine guy that was from Rome.
