powerdvd 7 ultra (on vista ult 64) that i got with my blu-ra isnt playing the audio via spdif. the amp is only picking it up as pro-logic. for both blu-ra's and dvds.
if i play a normal dvd through media-centre it works. help isnt too helpful. any ideas? |

You need version 8 or later for it to work
You also need a registry hack for it to work in media centre.. MS didn't like losing the BD vs HD war so haven't done anything to assist the end user |

Aside from an Xbox-360 external drive, MS weren't really involved in the "war". They still make a buck from any disc that uses the VC-1 codec so why would they care?
More likely they haven't done much towards BD support in media centre because they're working more at promoting downloadable formats. |

Sorry Dan,
Your correct. Native intergration with Vista appears to have been too much work considering it was only an option at the time. Be curious to see if 7 has it (too lazy as yet to try it out myself). MCE plugin worked tho it was a 3rd party thing and pretty hit an miss for most people due to weird codecs everyone install/uninstalls |
