So looks like the game isn't going to happen. BL to those who got tickets I guess.
Mark Nicholas was just on saying they were hoping to get a 20 over game going but it isn't looking good. It has been raining fairly well good. |

If there is no game it will be called a drawn series. Even if it wasn't who in the f*** would want to win anything without even setting foot on the field, mean seriously what a f***ing joke.
The other thing is how int he hell could they possibly even consider calling a series because of one day I s*** wheather. If you are going to be like that why not just flip a f***ing coin before the first game and let it decide who wins the entire frigging thing. |

I think the point of the series is to play cricket, not to be declared the winner and take a trophy. The Chappell-Hadlee trophy isn't exactly the most coveted prize in the sporting world anyway... |

6.06 pm QLD: Now we have information that play will start in around 25 minutes from now. The details about the overs will be made known to you as soon as possible.
Sam Sloane: "a win is a win if you begin at the same point..not all matches are decided through slogfests" 6.12 pm QLD: Great guys, the news from Brisbane is that New Zealand have won the toss and opted to bowl. The match has been reduced to 22 overs-a-side. Game On!! |

They've just started. Personally I think a 22 over game is really lame, its a shame they cant just reschedule it. |

Yeh concur.. I'd happily watch a 22 over game instead of nothing, but it shouldnt be the decider for what has been a good close series |

Absolutely - the 50 over game is a different beast to the 20 and it is bloody stupid to use 22 as a decider. Shall we do this for test matches to avoid a draw? ;-)
A 2 all series and AU winning would almost have been preferable, after all the All Blacks have won rugby series that way. |

Could be worse.
Most of you are too young to remember the final series where WI won match 1, and match 2 was a draw ... so they played a 3rd match decider ... wtf ? |

was still a cool game, was about 5 mins from going home when we heard it was on, heaps of big shots being played, hadden hit the edge of the second tier.

Could be worse. wasnt that the year it rained in teh third one too. the rain caculation was stupid back then and it meant the needed 40 runs off 15 overs or something stupid. i think DL system is pretty good though. i guess no system will be fool proof but it has always presented a contest when it has been implemented. |

Mike Hussey's wicket was kind of funny, yelling "OH NOO" as soon as he hit it. |

I can think of at least 3 awesome catches Hussey has taken at the Gabba now. That one is not as spectacular as the other ones, but still freakish.
Also, you'll be greatful you got some cricket in at all. The second test between England and the Windies looks like it will be called off after 1.4 overs because the outield is completely covered in sand. I was watching the commentary yesterday - the bowlers had to keep pulling out of their run ups because they couldn't get any footing. They are frantically trying to work out whether they can move the test to another ground/import some grass for the run ups, etc. A complete farce. This is at the stadium they purpose built for the World Cup in Antigua, which copped all the flack. |
