Topic: Four Guitar Hero Products In 2009 And Counting

We've talked a little about Activision's impending Metallica Guitar Hero release and have also mentioned another DS iteration would be hitting this year. Today, however, it was confirmed a further two Guitar Hero releases would be making their way to retail, the first of which is Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits, essentially a re-release of previous Guitar Hero tracks only in their original, master format (ie not covers), while the second revealed title is slated to "restage" the series with new peripherals and more.

Exactly how Activision plan on educating the masses regarding the need for new peripherals (and to throw down even more hard-earned cash in this economic crisis) remains to be seen. These releases also join a planned 2009 release for the offshoot product DJ Hero.

I'm waiting for Piano Hero: Elton John's Greatest Hits. Any idea of the release date for that?

Basically it will be a piano keyboard, but instead of 88 to 108 keys it will have 4 keys. It's going to be a huge.

*cough*

Perhaps "jazz band" or something, plastic sax/trumpet

More interested in the metallica pack, rumours are the drumkit may support 3 pedals - hihat and double kick

I already have two kick pedals, sets of sticks and microphones.

We sent our drum kit (just the pads) back for repair and they just sent us a new box with all the gear in it.

i reckon it would be cool if they had a symphony hero where you played classical music like mozart etc

Well theoretically you could just use 2 pedals and some kind of splitter and you could have 2 kicks already but I don't think any songs have a fast enough kick rhythm to bother with it atm.

There is another jack in the back of the drums, next to where the kick pedal connects, is that for another kick? It, on very breif inspection, looks to be the same connector type.

I guess I could try it, but never have :/

Its not for a second kick.

Because the kick signal is just like an "on/off", you just use a Y splitter to connect two kick pedals to the one jack on the drums.

I thought someone leaked that DJ Hero (which i'm guessing will be a DJ Max / Beatmania clone) will be released this year too?

Maybe they built it with room for expansion with plans to release a hihat pedal later on for only an extra $100

I'm thinking Guitar Hero: Banjo Extreme is next.
