OK,
I recall posting a comment here about a problem I had with my Asus P5kpl 1600 board not accepting anymore than 2 dimms. As soon as i loaded a 3rd Dimm, the system failed to boot. After much searching on Google I finally found out my s***ty board will only except more than 2 sticks as long as the dimms are all single sided. I had no idea about this at the time so now i have an extra 2 1 gig dimms I cannot even use because they are double sided. So at the moment I am running 2 1 gig double sided DDR2 dimms in duel channel mode. Knowing the limitations of my 32 bit OS, is it worth purchasing a 2 gig stick so I can run a 2 gig stick and then a 1 gig stick as well to raise my memory to 3 gig. Also if the chips are the same brand and running at the same speed, will they run in duel channel givin one is a 2 gig stick and the other a 1 gig stick? |

I challenge you to a DUAL!@
anyway, no - they have to be the same size, speed & latency etc to work properly in dual channel |
