Alright, so I'm after everyday shoes that are: 1. Either dark or look similar to Colorados in terms of colour (brown, blue, green, black - just anything dark!) 2. Comparable to Asics/Brooks running shoes in terms of comfort (cushioning impact, soft at the heel, etc). 3. Under $250 Obviously they'll never be as comfortable as pure running shoes, but there has to be something that comes close! The closest I got was a New Balance model (see pic below). Unfortunately it doesn't cushion that well. Shopping around, the alternatives I see are various dark Nike models that are often way narrow, or skater/flat-footed/clubbing shoes that provide virtually no cushioning even with inserts. Surely someone has to know of some brands/models and stores who stock what I'm after? http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~boldajis/images/nb2.jpg |

Does it have to be a closed shoe? If not, Birkenstocks.

I have a pair of Rockports that I think are pretty comfy and fit into your colour range/style. Then again I'm not to fussed on shoes and anything would seem comfortable next to my work boots or dunlops so I might not know what is considered comfortable for you.
They were $230 from Athletes Foot. |

Nah, none of Athletes Foots' other walking/cross-training shoes were suitable. Most 'walking' shoes I picked up there were too stiff and didn't provide much cushioning, they are generally just built tough to survive hiking, etc.
Cushioning is very important for me :/ Does it have to be a closed shoe? Yep closed, to be worn with jeans or dark camo cargo pants, or other dark stuff, etc. last edited by parabol at 18:13:06 16/Jan/09 |

what are you fat or something? Nah not fat. After f***ing up my feet and ankles climbing Mt Warning with s*** shoes 2 weeks ago (I'm still sore!), I want to take better care of my feet. Similar reason to why people buy Herman Miller chairs; if you're doing something very regularly (sitting or walking), might as well pay extra for the right gear. |
