Theres a deal going at EB where you can trade your ps2 and 14 games and you get a xbox 360 arcade pack and a guitar hero 3 bundle for only 120 bucks. Should i get this today or wait a while until the ps3 comes down?

Thats a fairly s*** deal right? Unless you never play the ps2 and games. I thought the arcade pack was only 200-250 dollars.

Heh, only 14 games! Reminds me of that early Simpsons Dr Nick bit. You got all this juice from only 2 bags of oranges?!

Get the Xbox 360. All of the same games that matter for half the price.

Get an xbox, but don't do that trade, it's s***house

And don't get an arcade if you plan to get online and download games, get a premium it comes with the hard drive. Either that or just get the arcade and if you find you need a HDD down the line go and buy one

Also domino can get you a free game if you get a 360 :)

get the 360, ps3 offers nothing more except bluray, and offers less in many areas (online stuff, game variety, etc.)...big premium for being able to read some disks.

I guess its personal preference, but i much prefer the PS3s controller, UI and general feel to the Xbox 360 (i have both). I find the PS3 is much more easier and pleasant to watch DivX stuff too. So i guess it depends on your budget and what games you want to play.

Xbox 360. Just start a poll already so we can settle which console is better once and for all.

You might be waiting for a while, Sony didn't do a holiday price cut for the PS3. The 360 (and Wii as well I think) did. They might do a discount mid year but I doubt it given Sony may post their first annual operating loss in 14 years

source http://money.cnn.com/2009/01/13/technology/sony.reut/index.htm

Spend the extra $100 and get the Xbox 360 Pro Console ($380 to $400 pending where you go, http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/ has a decent deal on atm).

If you want to play lots of games, get the 360

If you want to have a really good multimedia device, get a PS3.

Thanks 4 the replies but i think some of you didnt understand me! Its 299 bucks 4 the arcade (which comes with 2 crapy games, a console and a control) and you get the guitar hero 3: legends of rock bundle 4 free. And then if you trade in your ps2 with 14 games, you get 180 bucks off. So all together, its 120 bucks!

Do they accept ANY 14 games? EB have a pretty extensive exclusion list with some of their trade-in deals, you might want to check that.

Thanks guys- ended up gettin the 360. Traded in all my games and it took 169 bucks off the xbox price. And did any1 no about the problem with the 360? With the original 360s the console would overheat and be stuffed. The new and improved version of the 360 is "supposidly" fixed, although microsoft have to make free repairs if it happens with the knew 1s. Lets hope it holds together!

My 60gig 360 that was 6 weeks old RRoD on me just before Christmas.

And it wasn't due to overheating as I just turned it on and it hadn't been used that day.

On the plus side the whole warranty claim experience was excellent and I had it back within two weeks.

Just make sure you keep the box in case you do need to send it away.

Other than that it's a great console and I certainly don't regret getting it, depsite the initial problem.

cant believe how many people buy the "new revision xboxs dont fail" s***. the 360 failure rate is f***ing ludicrous and by all reports barely reduced by the latest revisions. my falcon model just failed 3 weeks out of warranty with a problem that isnt covered by the extended e74/rrod warranty

dont buy a 360 if you arent comfortable with this

If you have a decent PC then I would go with the PS3 as most Xbox360 games are on PS3 and/or PC. Also the PS3 hadware is much more stable, quiet and offers better/easier multimedia functionality.

If you want to play online multiplayer or you don't have a decent PC for games then I would go with the Xbox360. The Xbox live experience is far far superior to PSN.
