It seems as though the first two or three months of the New Year are going to become update/DLC months with today's release of the Knothole Island update for Fable 2 kicking off this year's game updates.

Not to be forgotten in the gameplay expansion set, Bethesda have finally dated the first of their three planned DLC releases for AusGamers 2008 Game of the Year Contender, Fallout 3.

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage will be available for download from the game's main menu from January 27, accroding to Bethesda. And as we've mentioned before, will only set you back 800MS points (around $10).

A patch for the game was added last night, so if you haven't fired it up in a while, now might be a good time to do so. You can have a look at a few screens from the upcoming update right here.

Anyone know if it'll be on PC also?

Everytime I read your titles, Farrelly, I think "dated"? That's a bit harsh - hasn't even come out yet.

"Dated" to me is what HyperColour t-shirts, Nissan Exa's and Slap-bands are.

Yer I have the same initial response as Pinky.

well, technically the game has been "dated". Don't blame me, blame our convoluted language - there are three possible definitions for that one word alone that only change based on context.

Also, given it hasn't been released yet - commonsense would suggest it can't possibly be "dated" in the way you're thinking... just throwing that out there

this dlc looks good, though i am a little confused by them raising the level cap in the last dlc release. you would think that raising the level cap first would give people more incentive to continue to play. Or alternatively, raise the level cap a little for each DLC pack.

Any idea how its going to be distributed on PC? Will it be through the Games for Windows Live marketplace thingy?

I don't understand the point of raising the level cap. You character is already ridiculously overpowered at level 20, by that stage most of the useful skills are pretty high.

Yeah, my guy at level 20, with the T51-B power armour from original Fallout and an entire arsenal of unique weaponry, pretty much walks all over everything in the game now, but I would assume the DLC that raises the level cap, also significantly raises the difficulty of the stuff you're doing and the stuff you're fighting.

I'm curious as to whether you can only download and play it if you have and have logged in to a Live account?

I noticed that when I got around to creating a Live account, I could not access my existing save games. I presume it's because it's viewed as a different account and it would screw up achievements. I had to logout to access my save games again.

This would be a big problem especially with the final DLC as it's unlikely I would play through the entire game again.
