hihi,
For those that don't know GAME have this 10 day sale where you can trade 2 games (that exists on their list) and receive a featured game for $2. I personally didn't know about this deal but i strolled in just then and found out about it so i thought there'd be other people who do not know about this as well. Games trade list I'll be picking up 2 copies of FIFA09 with this today. http://www.game.com.au/UserFiles/Image/Catalogues/December08/Dec_Boxing_Day_08/DecBoxing08_02.jpg p.s. I don't work for GAME, i'm merely trying to give back what i take off this forum. |

Yes, but you still need to give them two of the games you currently own.
In other words, it's still a s*** deal. Trading in games has always been and will always be a retarded idea. |

There is one at the Myer Center somewhere.
But yeah ill agree that this is a s*** deal, the games you have to trade in for the deal are all only new games (no more than a few months old). So you're basically trading 2 new releases for 1. |

IMO the second hand game market is worse than piracy for taking money away from game developers...

Well i own 3 of the 4 consoles listed so i have a more of a range of games to trade in. The games i'm trading are SKATE on the xbox 360 which is being discontinued and 3 DS games that we hardly ever play.
I need 2 copies of FIFA 09, (retailing for $99 each at most places) so i'll still come out on top. More than often you'll find games lying around gathering dust and this is one way to get rid of them. Obviously it all depends on what you're willing to get rid of in exchange of what you want. last edited by MatchFixer at 16:16:22 26/Dec/08 |

You don't seem to understand him.
He is placing very little to no value on a game that he doesn't play much if at all any more. The gains for selling the games with another method isn't worth his time and effort. Therefor giving up two worthless games (relative to him) and gaining a valued game is an excellent deal. |

We traded 4 games worth $20 each on ebay for 2x$100 games. We're not strapped for case, we just don't play those games any more. It's not like I traded GoW2 or any other new release for something else. |

I see. Why is one game which sold for $100 originally now worth $20 when another game is worth $100? If it's only worth $20 now, what made it worth more ages ago? How does its value change just because you've played it before? To someone who's never played the game before, how is it any better or worse a game, and therefore, worth any more or less?

It isn't about what a game is worth to the market. It is about what the game is worth to the person trading it in. The hassle of finding a buyer, the length of time it may take isn't worth it for some people and trading it in is an easy option. If you are not going to sell the game on Ebay or whatever and just letting it gather dust not playing it, why wouldn't you trade it in? |

I was going to buy Facebreaker for $30 from big w and another cheap game they wanted on their list. Then i thought screw it i'm not here to pay more money i'm here to get rid of what i already have and don't play. GAME is a business just like any other and it doesn't bother me what they resell it for, as long as the trade is worth my while. last edited by MatchFixer at 18:44:57 26/Dec/08 |

I've got a couple games in that list that I'm happy to part with. What's a game available now that's worth getting?
