This is old and I only got around to watching this yesterday but holy s*** it was good. If you like Kevin Smith then this is definitely a must see. So far I've only seen the first one and it's filmed at a couple of Universities in the USA and he's up on stage answering questions about his movies, life and other s***. I think it was made back in about 2002 so it obviously only covers stuff up until then but god damn it's good. It's f***ing hilarious thru-out and seriously, that man can speak. Some of the questions he replies to can go on for up to 20-30 minutes and though that might seem like ages it's really f***ing interesting.

It comes on 2 DVD's and runs close to 4 hours. Can't recommend it enough.

i do like most of his writing, but sometimes hes jsut a little too clever for his own good

and he definately likes the sound of his own voice;

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I think his movies are s***, mallrats was the only one I could tolerate.

I think I saw a clip from this where he's talking about the Superman movie? Not sure if it was from this but it was the same sort of thing - really funny and definitely worth a watch. I really enjoy listening to him speak.

Yeah, the Superman bit was from this one. That was another awesome story to listen to and the thing I like about his long bits of dialogue is that they start off rather simple and end really f***ing cool. Like it's leading up to some awesome punchline. But that Superman was definitley a highlight for sure.

There's a new one that just came out, it's the third Evening with Kevin Smith he's done called, Threevening with Kevin Smith. I met him a couple years ago when he was promoting Clerks 2, he did a 3 hour Q&A after showing the movie in Melbourne, it was awesome. They also filmed it but it hasn't made it to DVD yet.

The DVD done at the universities is much much better than the sequel (which is a complete show from Scotland rather than highlights). Without a bit of judicious editing, Kev can get mighty dull.

agreed, i remember reading that, and remember being glued to the computer screen.

Yeah while I enjoy watching a story he has laboured over for years, and even then - not all of them, I don't think I can sit through his writings and speeches anymore than I have. He is not particularly bright or intellectual or anything, he just talks a lot.
