We're buying ourselves a PS3 for Christmas and just wanting to find out what the best deals for a PS3 are right now?

We really want to get Little Big Planet as well, and I see that just about everywhere is throwing that game in for free with their offer. Right now, we've seen Harvey Norman doing the PS3 + LBP + Farcry 2 CE for about $688 or something.

Anywhere else that's offering a better deal than that at the moment?

I got my PS3 at JB. They had the same deal sorta. PS3 80gb + LBP or another other of 5 games + hdmi cable for 688. Oh and PS3 doesn't suck. I prefer it over the xbox now that i've played one

I got an 80gig PS3 and 13 games from my mate for $25, Hes rich as and didnt want it anymore. So i asked him how much he wanted for it; i was just curious and didnt want to get one, then he said oh about 25 and i just handed over the money and ran.

By far the biggest pain in the arse with the ps3. And just on the 360 vs ps3 thing, I haven't touched my 360 elite since I got my ps3 2 months ago.

Nah, in later models (like the 60) ps2 support is software emulated, rather than including the emotion chip. In which case the price from Sonys point of view should be near nil. I would guess the reason they have gotten rid of it is so that people don't ring up and complain that their Barbie Horse Racing game isn't working on the ps3 (when it did have backwards compatibility there were lots and lots of issues with random games).

Maybe the backwards compatibility market research should have included support cost projections as well.
