Topic: What phone to get #323423

My n80 is starting to die ... done a firmware update and format but its behaving erratically and since its out of warranty i dont think theres any sense in fixing it.

I dont really need the phone to have Music, internet would be nice as i can get unlimited 3g here in NL. Gps would be good on those days I get lost. Would be great if the phone had an awesome camera as I keep breaking my compact on drunken escapades so a phone would be better. I already have an iPod nano chromatic which has my music covered.

I dont think an iPhone would do, so was thinking something along the lines of a nokia n96. Any other suggestions? Are you using anything similar?

N96 look really nice minus the brick factor. Shiny++

N96 = 16GB + MicroSD, 5MP Carl Zeiss with 30fps VGA recording (very nice), A-GPS with downloadable maps, etc

Also, blackberry bold, or E71 but they're business phones.

I'm looking into getting the n96 as well.
I just need to give it a test drive before buying it, as my n70 sucks ass - slow, crap flash on camera etc.
Stupid that they have only just now come out in australia! :| They were released in feb overseas from memory! :| But you don't have that problem!

E71 is pretty hot sex as far as a PDA-style phone goes (still got 3.2 megapixel camera, Carl Zeiss lens, and A-GPS though). It's only 10mm thick too, it's really good.

Played with a Samsung Omnia last night, and it too was hot sex, but it's not out yet.

N96 looks great feature wise, but *apparently* it's a little 'plasticky' for a lot of people's taste.

I got an E71 as a blackberry replacement for somebody at work recently, seems to do the job nicely. I'd say it's a bit quirky in setting it up, but all phones are really.

The only problem I had with using an E71 once was I pressed about 3 or 4 keys at once pretty much everytime. The keys seem to be very easy to press 10 at once. Shrugs.

The phone is very sleek and nice to hold though. Def. would get one if I went back to Nokia.

the n96 is far superior in the looks and feel department. what i hated about the n95 was the sunken face. it would collect all sorts of grime and crap and generally annoyed me. the n96 screen is smooth with the exterior making it far superior.

the standby menu is better. connection to wireless is better imo. its just better.

I've had an e71 for a few months, I mainly just use the GPS and to call people. If you have lisa simpson stubby fingers look elsewhere as you wont be able to SMS.

I believe they're changing their lines a little... there is this new C line that used to be similar to the K line.

C905 is going to be their flagship handset when it comes out in the next month or two or three.

That sony one looks pretty awesome, I want a new phone as well because I hate the interface on mine and how slow/s*** it is for email.

Which phone has the most user friendly interface? Mine's so retarded that if you're sending an SMS there's 2 "soft buttons" that are labled cancel and ok and if you go to hit 'ok' right at the instant someone rings you that ok button turns into the 'reject' button and the cancel button turns into the 'answer' button. What the f*** retarded monkey designed the user interface on my phone?

Dude, the C905 is a SonyEricsson phone. Only Nokia's use S60. It does use Symbian i think, but its not like a Nokia.

edit: wow, the photos are pretty good... I'd just started to lean towards the Xperia too.

ive got the touch diamond, it s***s me having to pull the 'wanker pen' (stylus) out all the time to do stuff.. grr!!

other than that its pretty neat, just as long as you like touchscreens.

Going to sell it for a qwerty style phone though..

I bet Apple's laughing at all the horrendously bad finger touchscreens other phone companies have to use cause of the multi-touch capacitive screen patent...

its not that the touchscreen is bad, its just that i dont have the patience to use the stylus all the time..
