How do you burn your music and store it?
Trying to find a good system to get all my CD's right for mixing.

just use traktor scratch :D
never have to worry about burning a cd again and you can sort your collection exactly how you like it. i use it for my turntables and luuuurve it.

if i used CDJ stuff, i would sort my wallet according to the energy level of the track.. not by genre or date etc. this will help your sets flow and control the vibe. dunno if this will help you though jigzie cos you just play nothin but bangin right? :D

other than that just note down the bpm and key per track.. and bobsuruncle.

I store all my records in cardboard sleeves and put the sleeves into crates according to genre.

i tend to keep stuff organised loosely by genre, but i play a bit of different stuff so those categories are like: breaks, electro/house, prog/trance... not like underground fidgit dirty electro haus between bpms of 128-129.9

within the genres i arrange everything by key, with the bpms and how many bars each intro is on the labels.

but i've been so lazy lately, just been burning unlabelled cds for a while, really need to clean everything up ><

I've done my records by label. This has the added benefit of partially grouping by artist and/or genre. Records have distinctive looks though, so I don't know how well it translates to burnt cd's.

the chi energy flow man you know when you get like 3 powerful tracks in the same wallet and their powers stack and you just know that the next bomb you drop is totally gonna spin the world off its axis man

I like to arrange my cd's into different styles. So i'd have an electro, breaks, tech house, progressive, house and chilled beats.

Then break them each down into seperate folders depending on the feel of the track, trancy, uplifting, funky, filler, vocal etc.

This is only for my older track bases though, i have a cd for each month of fresh stuff i buy with a mixture of the above. Usually spend about 40-50 a month on fresh stuff.

If was really picky i'd probly put the bpm's and key's, i usually listen to the tracks a little before i decide to mix though and if it works it's all good!

Also a mate of mine from melbourne has a cd for each release. so would have like 2-3 tracks per cd pretty much just like taken vinyl. f*** he has heaps of cd's! its insane. BUT it works for him, and he just picks out which cd's he's gonna take to the gig n goes nuts.
