Has anyone had any experiance with password storage software? Is it safe? Reliable? What's the prefered program? Doesn't matter if it's shareware or not.
I know there was a thread with something about this awhile ago, but for the life of me I can't find it. |

Hmmm, maybe I should get something like this for me.
It'd be great if someone else could weigh into the debate to see which comes out on top - PasswordSafe or KeePass. |

Just make your passwords the same as your usernames.

Although not open source, we use Password Manager XP at work.
We actually use it for documenting just about everything about our client sites. http://www.cp-lab.com/ |

KeePass Portable inside a TrueCrypt volume.
Paranoid? Sure why not, some sensitive numbers/passwords are in there. If an exploit is released for one program (e.g. TrueCrypt), at least there's a backup layer of security. |

What happens if I film you typing in your passwords ?
Or grab a loved one hold a knife to their neck and say tell me or else ? Or keylogger Only way to be sure is to store half the password in one location, the other half in another location. Using differing method, include at least one for of bio lock. Using a non qwerty keyboard with no character printed on them, typing only in the dark and you format the pc everytime you use one of said passwords. |

Obes, that's a true info security response. And just remember if you're password's not 128-bit, its not a password.

keepass is what the warez sites recommend. I run it on my pcs, USB, on old phone - no iPhone support. It's very good.
I've seen it used in enterprises, much better than a password protected spreadsheet on a network share |
