No stranger to the chagrin of die-hard fans anymore, Diablo III lead designer, Jay Wilson, has told VideoGamer he's confident the fans are going to likely be annoyed at the planned next new class announcement for the third installment in Blizzard's popular Dungeon-crawling series.

"All the barbarian players are delighted and all the necromancers hate us. I understand," Wilson told the site. "I don't begrudge them that. I would hate me too! But what I would say is that when we announce the next class, which is quite similar to a previous class, then all those players will hate us too. You can't make everybody happy, but I think when the game finally comes out players will find there's a good class for them, one they will love as much as the ones that came before. And if they don't, I absolutely promise that in the expansions we'll consider
bringing back old classes. We just don't want to do it with the first release. We want to establish
our identity."

It's interesting that despite acknowledging the predicted backlash, Blizzard - as they always have - will still do things the way the want to. Personally I thought the Witch Doctor was cool. Head to our Diablo III game page for more.

I thought so too. Necro never really appealed to me but Witch Doc looks great. As long as the Amazon and Assassin return in some form however i'll be happy too. They were my fav 2 classes.

Amazon was good before the expansion before they limited the abilities. Strafe in particular. It used to hit something crazy like 18 - 24 targets for 1 use then that became 5 max after LoD. BUU. Just needed a good bow and you could own

One of the reason Blizzard do well is that they don't over-rate the people screaming on forums and the like.

I'm just glad that we have male and female models this time. My favourite class in D1 was the magic dude and they gave him a skirt in D2 :(

i liked something about all the diablo 2 classes.

Well i'm talking about single player because back during the D2 days I didn't have DSL so playing on dial up was out of the question.

D2 was not designed for pvp. Hopefully D3 is.
