Most of the good guilds gonna be rolling on Anlec (Open RvR), if anyone plans on playing warhammer should roll there to so we can boost the pop to hopefully something like blackrock early days :D

open rvr servers are gonna be dead s***holes filled with tryhard wankers.

The only reason to play on them is if you want to partake in roaming gank squads, proper pvp will be in the rvr regions, where there are objectives and a reason to pvp there.

Core is where the best players will be.

Yeah since its only the collectors edition that has access to the early start atm, i cant imagine it being too full.

During the last open beta the oceanic servers were both pretty full, so i imagine come full release there should be a large playerbase.

Can someone explain what the realm differences are (if any).. ie; what "Open RvR" is or is that just another realm name?

the core server will prob have a bigger queue then open RVR simply because of so many care bears not wanting to be ganked + relying on the bolster system...

Some information about the servers from here http://www.warcry.com/news/view/86237-Warhammer-Ruleset-Server-List.

Players will be able to choose from four server types: Core, Open RvR, Roleplay, and a hybrid Roleplay/Open RvR ruleset. We will continue to open up servers supporting different server types as the need arises.

Core Ruleset

Core servers are just what you'd expect. These are servers that have everything Warhammer has to offer, with no special changes to the normal ruleset. RvR is confined to lakes and Scenarios, and there are two opposing realms engaged in the WAR. Players may only engage in Player vs. Player combat when flagged to do so in specific areas around the world. Select a Core ruleset server for the original exciting gameplay experience that WAR was designed to offer.

Open RvR Ruleset

The Open RvR servers feature RvR flagging everywhere except for the Tier 1 Chapter area and the surrounding PvE content. Once players leave this area, they will be flagged for RvR anywhere in the game. Open RvR servers are perfect for those who want to add an extra challenge to their gaming experience. Players must constantly watch their backs or risk attack by enemies everywhere they go! Only members of opposing realms may attack each other; the Open RvR server still focuses on Order versus Destruction.

pvp in wow is so excellent, that players who rock pvp in wow set the standard by which all pvp players are measured

If you removed "wow", and replaced it "daoc", as well as replace your sarcasm, your statement would be spot on!

Anyone in the beta getting a password error when they try to log into the game? It keeps saying my password is wrong, which is silly as it was working fine yesterday and I've reset my password, but to no avail.

only those with CE head start can play atm, so unless u have CE then that's why you're getting the error, if u do have it.. nfi.

Hey guys im prolly guna give this one a go and try for the open rvr server...

if anyone else is willing u wanna make a qgl guild to tide us over until we can merge with a more competitive guild or make ours work ... im not gunna gm/officer a guild again its way to much effort and i dont have the time anymore. wow was enough agony for a life time with respect to managing 14yo stains who whinge endlessly ...

so whatta u guys think? if some of u are already in decent guilds sweet but if not? also when the game goes live if some of u are in decent guilds send me an inv lol ...

So your mythic account info lists you as having the CE headstart specifically?

I know there were some problems with the au autho server, thought they were fixed?

I'm not really concerned about core vs open. I just wanna set up where there's a good sized pop and minimum hassles, dunno what numbers are like at the moment.

Bah, less than 24 hrs until SEs are up, assuming no more delays take place.

The thing with open vs core is that all the best pvp is going to happen in rvr flagging zones anyway, all the keep seiges and interesting pvp objectives are in areas that flag you for pvp.

If you idea of fun is going around in small parties and ganking people trying to quest then sure, thats open rvr but if you actually wanna get the borign s*** out of the way with minimum effort so you can go do the fun pvp s***, core makes way more sense.

PLUS, on open rvr servers, you cant even go back into lowbies zones to f*** around...

last time i checked you can. its only if you are 2 tiers above that you get chickenized. so a tier 3 player will be chickenized if he goes into tier 1, but a tier 2 player will not.
Raider

yer, mythic weren't dumb enough to keep the chicken rule in for the minimum 1 tier, but even still i think it should be taken out.. sure people can get ganked... but it's also handy for running alts through instances / quests etc.

it's like blackrock, that s*** was crazy... especially STV.. on open... anything red was attacked, i loved it :D

I can't believe people actually think Wow arena pvp is what "real" pvp in an MMO either is or should be. For all intents and purposes you might aswell be playing Fifa 08 because that has more in common with Wow's arena joke than it does with actual MMO pvp.

I have no doubt that some of the well ranked Wow arena crowd will do well in other pvp games but it won't be because of anything they learned in wow.

Hehe yeah I agree with Taipan, Arenas are lolz. Was looking at the server list last night at like 6pm and there was already a 50 person queue for destruction on darklands, have fun anyone who rolled there!

Raider

so far i find it much more enjoyable then wow, defended a castle last night against a raid double our size.. was fun and we did it... scenario's are like any battle ground ... s*** in a pug good with a group.

once they fix up the fps drama's it should turn into a really good game.
