Not really up on the technical stuff but here goes. I want to connect my wii to the internet but my internet connection is set up in the bedroom through the pc while my wii is connected through the tv in the lounge room. I don't have a wireless contection. So how do I get round this any ideas ?? Cheers |

Either buy a wireless router, or grab the USB ethernet adapter for the Wii.
Chances are you'll be able to get the wireless router for a lot less (and a lot sooner), so I'd go with that. A decent wireless router can be had for about $40 or less these days. |

Pretty sure those USB dongles are no longer being made. Just by a router.

my wii already has wireless, i thought they all did? No one said it didn't? The suggestions in this thread were: 1. Buy a wireless router (so your Wii's Wi-Fi has an access point to connect to) or 2. Buy a USB ethernet adapter to allow you to hook up a cable to an existing router. |

You need to buy a Wireless Router that hooks up to your modem via cable, you usually sit them next to each other.
Most routers allow you to use a combination of cable's and wireless devices, so hook your computer up to the router via the cable. Be sure to turn on the wireless router's encryption or your next door neighbors can be inz yer wavez steelen yer netz! Be sure to write down the encryption key. You'll need to go into the Wii's network settings and enter the encryption key (which you wrote down) and wait a few seconds. The Wii should be connected to the intertron. Open up your routers settings and there should be an option somewhere to look at connected devices, it should show your PC and the Wii. If the Wii isn't showing you have done something wrong. |

You got 3 options
1: USB connector for your PC which acts as a wifi router for around $50-70 pending where you get it from. 2: WiFI router more expensive and a bitch to setup 3: USB ethernet Dongle wether they sell these anymore is beyond me but I got mine for $25 and a network cable for $25 from harvey norman (15M) best bet if you can is the ethernet but chance of getting one is very slim next best bet would be the USB Connector as it works for both Wii and DS. |

I'm sure he's capable of turning it on and setting a password.
