NVIDIA are premiering the launch of the Space Siege demo, offering a taste of this sci-fi/action RPG game from Gas Powered Games:
Space Siege puts players in the shoes of Seth Walker, a robotics specialist aboard the Armstrong – the only colony ship to survive a massive alien attack upon Earth. As the aliens descend, Walker must fend off the extraterrestrial threat using his wits and weapons. To help his cause, he can choose to augment his body with a variety of cybernetic upgrades, but with each mechanical improvement he becomes more machine than man and he can never return to being fully human. In this spectacular sci-fi adventure, players must decide how far they will go to save humanity!
We've got it mirrored, so you can download it locally to check it out. Have a gander at our screenshots page to get a look at the visuals.

It's like dungeon siege 2, but instead of all the cool parts, you become a robot.

Yeah for those that aren't immediately familiar (like I wasn't) Space Siege is a sci-fi action RPG, the latest from the creators of Dungeon Siege.

Yeh I was still trying to find out what the hell it was; the official website fully sucks for information and doesn't summarise it. Ta, I'll add that into the post.

crashes after the main setup file self-extracts for me, love wasting bandwidth on buggy demos.

Hmm, it needs optimizing and is a pretty short demo, but I'm still interested. I found the story a bit more engaging than I did for the original dungeon siege games, though that's probably just because I'm a bit tired of traditional magic and sword type games.

Interesting that SEGA picked up the game for publishing, wasn't expecting that.

Just checked some file sizes, roughly 60% of the install seems to be movie and sound data, I wonder if that cri-ware av toolset is in fact crapware. Also, the game extracts to 812 MB game directory from a 935 MB install file, perhaps the rest is DLLs or a custom sound engine or some such junk.

that was terrible
1 gig download (free from iinet though) and 10 minutes of pretty ordinary game.

i normally love scifi and like rpg generally, but that really sucked i thought
