Far Cry was one of the most anticipated FPS games of its time, and was launched to a generally positive response a couple years back. The Far Cry brand is now an Ubisoft property (while the original team behind the title now focuses on the Crysis series), and they're hard at work on Far Cry 2, the (completely detached) sequel. You're no longer battling weird mutants on lush tropical islands - instead you're venturing around massive maps in the African wilderness. There's still a lot of shooting and explosions and vehicles though, so if you want to find out more check out some of our thoughts in our impressions of the E3 build.

When I first heard that we would have Crysis and Far Cry 2 I thought that Crysis would blow Far Cry 2 out of the water. After playing crysis and finding it pretty generic this title is looking promising.

I reckon this'd be a pretty awesome multiplayer title if they put their mind to it on PC - the maps are like 64 sq km, so with some decent gameplay modes tailored for the huge maps it could be really interesting. Ubisoft don't have a great track record with PC FPS and server stuff so I don't have a loooottttt of faith that it'll turn out like that, unfortunately - but it still looks like a cool single player FPS.

you're now in Africa, so expect to see a lot less green and a lot less brown.

You mean more, right?

Haven't you heard? Real is brown.

Crysis was fine, nothing new but fine none the less. FC2 Looks good, I will be definitely buying this when its out and hope that they bother to make Dedicated server software.

Crysis was fine

Tell that to the AI that run around in circles when you're sniping at them, or when they run straight into a wall and keep running until u can go up and beat them with your fists.

I didn't play much crysis but I found the only good thing about the game to be the suit.

Crysis was an awesome tech demo, but some bastard forgot to tell me and I went and spent $100 looking for a game, and a wad on a new rig - definitely not a game worth upgrading for IMO, hope Farcry 2 is a whole lot better.
