Topic: Petrol Cap for my car

Hey,

Im a car noob, so heres my question.

My boyfriend put petrol in my car on Sunday, upon filling up again last night I discovered that he has neglected to put the cap back on the tank, had driven off and lost it.

I need a new one asap - does anyone have advice on how to tackle this - are they all the same or should I go through Holden? A dealer or parts provider? Or just a mechanic?

Thanks :)

Find one of the following: Super Cheap Autos / Repco / Autobarn.

Sounds more like your boyfriend is the car noob

If only there was some place where scrapped cars were stored that could be pilfered for parts

I use a Nescafe Blend 43 cap. Keeps the diesel in there nicely.

girls do that, not men
and yes, go see a wrecker or your manufacturers spare parts department

ie, if you have a nissan - go see metro nissan and ask for a petrol cap
if you have a holden, go see the holden dealership down the bottom of the valley across from the shell and ask for a petrol cap

Yeah tried that already, but looks like Supercheap is going to help me out.

Generalizations are always wrong.

I guess this can be the exception to the rule.

What gave it away? The fact it has 'oil' printed on it on it, or that it adds "that desired sparkle and shine to your otherwise dull engine bay."

i've lost like 81324873215 billion fuel caps.

just call a dealer for your make of car, they sell em out of spare parts department for like $20 or so.

or you can probably get a cheaper one at super cheap bogan or something

I did the same thing a few months ago, went to the wreckers, asked if they had any. The guy comes back a couple of seconds later, hands it to me and says have it.
