hey guys having a drama with a hdd I bought today (well 2 WD5000KS 500gb's).
Ive got a aopen ax4sg-un mobo and for some reason it wont detect my drives. I already have 3 IDE drives in there that are working fine. I have googled and couldnt find anything. is there something in the bios i need to change to enable sata? |

is there something in the bios i need to change to enable sata?Maybe. Have you had a look in computer management to see if the drive is there? At times you will need to format your drive first before it will appear in my computer. |

i finally found out there was some setting i had to change in bios but yeah now I have that problem. Its not showing up in my computer also Im using XP Pro sp3

ok what does convert disc mean? do i need to do that in computer management?

You will need to format it to a NTFS partition, which you can do simply by right clicking on the disk and selecting format.
Be careful you have chosen the right drive though. |
