Topic: Warning: dangerous headphones - lookout for falling helicopt...

Hopefully some of you Labor Lovers can make little Kev aware of this so that he can do something (ANYTHING!!) about this urgent national crisis..

It seems that a guy was crossing the road (in Canada) listening to his portable entertainment device when a helicopter fell out of the sky and killed him.

Obviously if he hadn't been an irresponsible young adult, practically a teen, he wouldn't have been wearing headphones and could have dodged the plumetting helicopter, so I ask you, when will our government introduce a suitable punitive tax on headphones and portable media players to teach youngsters of the dangers of 'external ignorance', or when will the government put in place a system to remove headphones from our shops? or at least institute a policy of covering all walkways in helicopter proof coverings - obviously there would need to be an opt-out mechanism for public beaches and pedophiles - but the government needs to do something urgently before more people's health is affected.

Edit: link fixed?

What the f*** natslovR

http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/2008/05/18/5605276.html

what the hell does this have to do with the Government, or politics, or australia

I hate to point out the fact that the headphones didn't kill him, the f***ing tonnes of metal accelerating down onto him did...

What if he was wearing a woolly hat, or had a hearing problem? Would you be so callous then!?

Even if you heard the c*** you would not know which way to run.

isn't the biggest problem that the helicopter was making less noise than an ipod. perhaps that was the reason it crashed?

if you're going to wear headphones with the music up so loud you can't hear external noise, you deserve to be hit by a helicopter.

While there is no evidence to back up that theory, the speculation is hard to avoid

that may be your opinion but the article is very focused on the dangers of wearing headphones, it even says so in the sub headline "Life Threatening Headphones - Dangers of wearing headphones raised after helicopter death of B.C. student".

we know from recent history that our government is very focused on protecting us from dangers such as low priced pre-mixed drinks and the internet.

It seems like a danger just begging for Kevin's attention.
