Since my Xbox has RROD'ed, I'm thinking about buying an arcade... where is the best place to buy - anyone know cheapest prices around? Are they all $400?

All those target ones were factory refurbished ones. IE ones that RROD and just got a patch..

Finding one of the new falcon arcades is very hard at the moment, been trying to find one for a few weeks.

Nah they weren't I got one from Chermside Target, brand new falcon board. (75007 last 5 digits) 2007, week 50, group 7 despite having 223W on the box the power supply was only 175W (aparently quite common for that factory). The 3 left when I got mine were all from the same batch. But I have heard rumour that Target can/do, so it doesn't ghurt to ask (pretty sure they are required to tell you if you ask).

um, I when looked it wasn't real hard. JB HiFi, bigW, Myer and Target at Chermside all had them. The Elites and pro's didn't look to be Falcons tho. Didn't even look in the 2 EBs or the Gametraders there.

Yeah obes, about 6 weeks ago or so there were plenty of falcon based Arcades around but MS found another stock of old arcades and are sending them out to everyone.

The problem is they have new lot numbers on them, I picked one up from kmart 2 weeks ago going, sweet, lot number 813, i'm set.

Yeah not so, manufacture date was back in 06 and on a 223W power supply. I then went hunting and all the EB's in the city were only getting in old stock, non-falcons. And the same with eb's around south/east side. i tried every store in carindale, cannon hill and most of the city places and they were all non-falcons, but all very recent shipments.

I'm hoping sometime this week to get a chance to go back and see if they've got new stock in.

The 4 things to check to make sure you get a falcon. Has HDMI, a lot number greater than 800, a manufacture date in 2008, and most important, a Power supply rating of 175 on the supply it self, NOT on the box, most of the boxes are still printing with 223.
