You cannot make this stuff up:
In Mastiff's upcoming WiiWare(tm) release, Major League Eating: The Game players control professional eaters in epic one-on-one gurgitory battles. For the next three weeks, we'll be releasing information about the eaters featured in Major League Eating: The Game, including their real-life stats and accomplishments, as well as their unique strengths and vulnerabilities in the game.
Some screenshots are available as well showing the gluttonous action - and there's even a trailer.

Actually the winners of the IRL competitions are (counter-intuitively) usually skinny, or at least not big fat people like you'd expect. Here's one of them, this little 160 pound dude.

There's some reason about why skinny people are better at it but I can't remember off top of head.

They do this for tournaments that seem to have around $4,000 in prizes? That's just... stupid.

(Okay, maybe I'm in no position to talk - 1st place in the 24 hours of Adrenalin world championships is something like $3,250 - clearly not something you do for the money).

I almost thought this was some made up s*** to promote a new AGN article on shovelware.

Goddamn.. at least it's only on wiiware, so it'll be easy to ignore.

they fast before hand just drinking water to keep their stomachs stretched out. not sure how many fat people would do that.

Skinny people often have huge metabolisms as well, and thus can eat heaps.

The size of your stomach really has no correlation to your metabolism.
Both can be trained/altered, but they're completely independant. (For instance, I've always had a pretty high metabolism, but recently it's gone through the roof due to the cycling/training I do - my average calorie burn is somewhere around the 3800kcal/day region to keep me at 64kg).

That doesn't mean I could eat 28 hot dogs though.

Then again sometimes the bigger competitor does win.

Damn it, beaten.

They need Major League Commentating. Commentators face off to provide the most colourful commentary of total non-events.

There is this concept of a sort of resting metabolism. Basically how much heat your body produces while resting. I wonder if these people are burninators and just produce heaps of heat. Fire up!
