It was a 14GB download for the game and probably 1.5GB of patches. Guess it depends how you define patch.

I'm not boba, but running DX10 (f***ing gay vista), 1680 * 1050, 8800gtx, 2g ram, E6850 on p35 chipset mobo. Latest nvidia offical drivers. Set to the "default" high setting in game + I ticked bloom lighting. Sits between 25 and 35fps.

Beta was pretty average and buggy

Haven't seen any show stopping bugs, no client crashes. Only bug I have seen so far has been 1 mob that got stuck and was perma evading. But you see them in any of these games, and it was only 1 out of I don't know how many mobs.

As for the average comment, I guess it depends what you call average. So far I am enjoying it.

I'm running everything as high as possible windowed 1680x1050 and it sits around 30-40 and i'm running it as dx10

I really like the game even though I bagged the s*** out of it in beta. I dunno maybe they've fixed stuff I had gripes with but now it's awesome, especially on a pvp server where there is ganking everywhere.

Inside tortage all quest dialogues have voice overs.

strex i wouldnt get caught in the trap of "starting off on a pve server just to get the hang of it". You end up playing that guy to death cause he's ur first and favourite guy, and eventually u realise that PVE sucks, and u cbf starting a new character on PVP so u just put up with the gayness of PVE.

If it goes anything like the open beta there are 2 different worlds essentially.

The single player quests you need to do to leave the nube starting city you talk to some NPC and go into "night mode" where there aren't any other players.

To actually start the last quest you need to be level 19.

Day mode is just doing rando quests around the starter city to build XP and you can group up with/pvp kill all the other nubes running around if you so desire.

Dual (duel cpus is 2 cpus fighting) core is definately supported seems to evenly spread, so I'll assume quad support is there (would be whacky if they limited the multi threadiung to 2 threads.

Its ffa pvp, there is a roleplay one (don't ask, and I beleive their is 2 servers testing a faction based ruleset.

For some people its what they prefer. WoW pvp sucked mroe then any other games pve. DAOC rvr was awesome. Conan pvp so far has been awesome.

Does it really matter? The whole point (for me anyway) is to have fun so it shouldn't really matter how long it takes you to reach 10. Unless of course, you're a competitive nut and want to gank n00bs asap.

Fun in a mmo is about playing with people. Otherwise its a pay per play single player experience.

If you go from 1 - 10 in 5 years, and are having fun great. Then awesome.

If you go from 1-10 and aren't getting in groups and generally having fun, because all the other people in that grouping bracket are powerleveling to the otherside... why play an mmo.

I have played heaps of mmos ... heaps... more then you probably even know existed. If I don't enjoy it I quit. Sometimes thats after 2 or 3 months, sometimes its 2 or 3 years. Some I got max level in, some I didn't.

I may pretend to be that. But I definately am not. I never attack someone unless I have a grudge or they went me first.
Case in point I could have played my level 21 or whatever Tempest last night and sat at whitesands aoeing the players who just rolled... Instead I went and started a new toon to play tortage through again and do the quests I missed. My lack of competitiveness and max level seeking is probably annoying Boba atm.

last night i got my pvp conqueror to lvl 10, but i found it s***loads harder and died 100x more than with my pve guardian... even though i had a massive two-handed claymore sword to wave around.

Do yourself a favour, if wow sucked up alot of your time and you are glad to be free of it, you might want to consider giving up mmos in general. They just aren't worth your (or anyones) time.

ive played both a barbarian and a guardian to level 15 and i cant decide which one i like the most

hard to really guage at level 15 because you hardly take on more then 2 things at once

i think guardian is purpose built for taking on multiple muthafukaz. i'm something paltry like lvl 22 or something (guardian) but i can take on atleast a 4 c***s swinging my massive long dong halberd around. if s*** gets hektik you just thump it on the ground and everyone gets blasted backwards onto their arses.

ps. i saw a dude riding a mammoth today and it looked f***en radtastical. he rode it into the main town square to show it off, and everyone crowed around and was ooohing and ahhhing... lol this game rox
