TF2 update should be up later today (or tomorrow) 29th April US time. Most people already know it is going to have a new gameplay mode called Payload and a new map called GoldRush.

The goal for the blue team is to push the bomb payload throughout the level until it reaches the next capture point, eventually destroying all three of the red teams major bases. Blue pushes the level by standing near it, and the cart will move faster the more people standing near it, which is a concept familiar to anyone who plays team based multi player games. If no one has pushed the cart forward after 30 seconds, the cart will begin to move backward until it is pushed forward again. This makes for some very concentrated and hectic exchanges indeed.

Along with the new map it will also have new ridiculously hard medic achievements and unlockable weapons. Apparently some of the harder achievements previously outlined have been toned down.

Update is for PC version only at this stage, no one plays this on console anyway so that doesn't matter.

New map sounds like a lot of fun - a mixture between dustbowl and Hunted VIP mode, somehow have to find time in between GTA4 sessions.

Also mongie fix your TF2 team forum because I think season 2 is about to start up on the GA ladder.

Can't wait for this map, going to be awesome, sounds like some incredibly epic battles are going to be had.

As for the medic, it will be gayness for a little while, but eventually everyone will settle down and leave the healing to the proper blokes.

You can't have too many medics, as [QGL]eK and I* found out in the vids below.
About 75% of our team went medic 5 rounds in a row and we absolutely slaughtered.

(sorry for the pixelation, youtube insisted on re-encoding my original good-quality videos)

lol @ bonesawing a pyro, what a f***ing noob.

Though that pretty much sums up my point... medic is by far the most powerful class in the game... a team with 2+ medics nearly always beats out a team with 1 medic.

If you have zero medics you automatically fail.

So I couldn't imagine what happens when the "leet" medics get this ubercharging bonesaw and the ability to get 100% crits, it's going to be ridiculous... a good medic is far too powerful as it is.

It really depends on the mix of player skills as to what classes are good to have in that team. Sometimes the mix works out in such a way that you don't need medics that much. Soldiers/demoman and scouts that have a high K/D ratio don't need medics that much, were as the same classes with an average K/D ratio will greatly benefit from a medic.
